I meet kangaroos a lot on daily basis. One of my dogs was obsessed with chasing them (he still loves to but I have more control over him now). A few times he cornered a roo and I had no chance of calling him off or catching him to drag him away. Some of these guys were over 2 metres tall. Roos are cut AF and their claws are as large as carnivore claws. Trust me, you don't want a roo to touch you. Anyway, a stick to keep them at sufficient distance to be able to retrieve my dog was all I ever needed, but to be safe I started carrying a knife too; roo meat is very tasty.

Be fair OP. America became a laughing stock the moment Trump was elected.

Apart from removing ads I don't really need anything from ultra. I'd be happy to pay one off fee, but I won't be doing subscription.

Today after updating Voyager the downvote button was gone. What is the reason for removing it? Is lemmy going the way of YouTube?

Wow, I've been on lemmy for a month after Sync died and now I'm already seeing the start of its demise. I haven't heard of Hexbear before and don't really have interest in it, but pre-emptive defeterating is a bit much. I don't think it's good for the fediverse either. It'll probably end up renamed to clique - verse.

I don't get all the hate Brave gets. I understand that techies have some issues, but for me as a user I have nothing bad to say. Ads are blocked everywhere, including YouTube. There's an option to use tor...

If you don't like the crypto options don't use them. I always thought crypto was bunk, but I wish I bought a bunch of bitcoin when I first heard of it.

So let me get this straight. Musk bought Twitter for 44 billion, fired most of the staff, destroyed bunch of features and functionality, scared advertisers away and now changed the brand's name. Wouldn't it be less hassle to just start a platform and pay people $100 each as a sign up bonus?

I ran a business, built my website and done SEO according to advice found on the internet practically just using keywords related to my business. My goal was not to be on page 2 or 3 when people look for similar businesses. The site ended up always as a first result. I did not tinker with it, never paid for adwords/adsense. I don't think I was being an asshole, just trying to make a living.

The problem seems to lie with Google. I remember days when I could search it for topics of interest and get results that were informative and didn't try to sell me shit. Google is now reminiscent more of a mall and search results are shop fronts in the mall.

I generally ask the person whether they close the door when they go take a dump. Everyone does it, everyone knows why you're going into that room.

Perhaps, but for every 100 upvotes on reddit you also receive 75-112 downvotes.

I live in Australia, very sunny most of the year. Light theme feels like I'm shining a flashlight into my eyes even during the day. I just don't understand light theme.
