Why does a baby shower need to be so gendered? Like, no surprise in our current culture the baby's gender is overemphasized since you know nothing except whether or not it has a penis, and I guess "It doesn't have a penis!" doesn't seem as polite as "it's a girl", but why also gender some of the activities too?

Not at all. It's really impressive how someone can even come out and cis people not realize if the word "trans" is not used.

My mom ended up with stage 4 cervical cancer (she recovered) because of her wife at the time (the person who birthed us) cheating on her and giving her STDs she was unaware of and didn't realize she needed to be getting more frequent checkups. I still agree with you, but I also have a hard time being mad at someone for passing on information that could be important to other's health depending on the motivation. Idk much about cishet relationships though.

Wouldn't that be minors? Still, every group except young children were about the same, so minors as a whole would still be lower than non-minors.

They should just learn to edit the pdfs if they're sent with actual text.

Young children were like half the rate of adults and adolescents. Even if you averaged the 6-11 in with them, they'd still be below adults and adolescents.

We know it's a patent suit though. Just because the article focuses on specific patents doesn't mean those parents are not already ridiculous and that the lawsuit, even if it's not based on those specific patents, is also ridiculous.

Severe/morbid obesity is a BMI of 40+, rather than 30 for obese. I've been at the low end of that briefly and started getting out of breath doing things like going to my car, so I immediately decided to drop weight. Bar things like severe depression or significant medical issues, I don't see how people are able to maintain that kind of weight when it has such an obvious direct impact on quality of life.

Curious if the survey also included children, where the rates tend to be lower.

Oh yeah... no clue how I forgot about that. Guess I was specifically thinking about Clinton/Bush because they're the ones who've had multiple in the family on the ballot.

Nixon, Ford, Carter were 70's, not after the 70's. Reagan's VP was a Bush, wasn't it? Maybe they're also including the primary ballots to count Clinton in 2008? But I don't think she ran in 2012....

Driving to work and Nandemonaiya by Radwimps starts playing, so I think about Your Name/Kimi no Na wa and suddenly feel like I'm about to cry hard. Probably would have if I wasn't about to laugh at how silly that felt. E be weird sometimes.

Ye. I still use my (very male-only) birthname and the provider made sure to double check that is what I wanted her to use in the appointment. Glad informed consent exists because annoying gatekeepers probably wouldn't have like that, among other things.
