For a split second I thought you meant 4 presidents dying in a year - wouldn't that be neat

I will be sending this to my reactionary family members when he finally kicks it, thank you comrade

Yea, I guess i just don't have the same optimism about public sentiment.

I'll chalk it up to how the US elections went and how much more common/accepted Zionism is becoming in many circles. It's certainly becoming more polarized - many liberals and progressives have been recognizing the Palestinian resistance , but conservatives and even many center and center-right liberals have become more ardently supportive of Israel, even openly islamophobic.

My sense is that the zionist movement is even more pronounced in Germany, but I'll admit that I'm pretty distant from german culture so I am by no means an authority on the topic.

Even well-meaning Germans won't be able to justify supporting Isrel anymore and their Holocaust guilt will finally give in. Other Europeans are already fed up and only need that extra illiberal push to take them over the edge.

They had me until this point.

I think they underestimate the extent of fascistic currents throughout the western world, and I especially don't think Germany will suddenly abandon their support of Israeli aggression

I would have guessed DOT secretary to monitor them chemtrails

Or maybe DHS or Education for his experience with school safety doomer

Speaking as someone who was radicalized during the 2016 elections - I think it's a little of both.

I think we're at a moment where a lot of people will be driven from the center in both directions. Realizing that liberalism is incapable of stopping fascism is a strong catalyst for a lot of socdems/progressive liberals.

Get the fuck out.

I literally went to the hospital today for septic Elbow bursitis, and my elbow was a woke, soy, swollen and round bulb and not at all pointy

Didn't think to ask the doctor if it was florinated water that caused my visit

Maybe it's because I'm Minnesotan but I am just tickled by the way he says 'dipshit'

That was gross of me, sorry

For what it's worth i meant his overall energy but it feels empty now

Just the title. I've been pulling some crazy all-nighters and I'm absolutely exhausted, and I'm remembering a time when I could comfortably say "fuck off" without any mixed feelings. Now I feel some perverse responsibility to kill myself for our project and I kind of hate myself for it.

I'm embarrassed by the number of award-winning games I have unfinished on my hard drive, but every time I fire them up I think "i'm not enjoying this".

Am I doing it wrong? Should I be mainlining my ADHD meds before trying to play?

My ADHD demands a low-level background stimulation in order for me to focus, so I will listen to audiobooks as I work, and oh-boy did my book interrupt my focus today.

I'm only halfway through so I don't think it could be considered a spoiler, but:

!spoiler spoiler there's a part where one of the characters is unexpectedly stabbed by a tentacle while studying a seemingly harmless alien species (not the kind of shokushu zeme i'm into personally) and is infected with a foreign organic organism. The guy almost dies from it, but they discover that the organism found a way into his brain and has literally replaced his corpus callosum. The next chapter from his perspective slowly starts replacing first-person pronouns with 'we' and 'us', and then he has a tense confrontation with his crew member that end with him/them sticking a syringe through his tear duct and into his brain, and attempting to inject the crew mate with the parasite!<

There's no reason for me to share this except it has clearly disturbed me and when I tried telling my partner about it they weren't thrilled with my trauma dump.

I guess let this be a warning about this book: the first one of the series is pretty chill but this one really sneaks up to you with the body horror.

My curiosity is pulling me back in wish me luck

Edit: oh my god it gets worse, but it's over now

Carry on
