I read into this a little bit, the shooter was a racist groyper femcel who wanted to kill all “moids” (femcel term for men) and this is the school she went to. They posted a manifesto on twitter but forgot to make the google doc public, and the people she follows on twitter are posting shit defending her and posting the most terminally online esoteric racism I’ve ever seen. It’s so disgusting and I feel gross for even reading about any of this. Something needs to be done about these online communities, idk what but they need to be censored somehow I can’t believe it’s just allowed out there in the world (especially on sites like twitter and discord considering how massive they are), and it’s just allowing so many alienated, impressionable teenagers to be pulled in and indoctrinated into hate and nihilism. Idk I think the internet might’ve been a mistake

Do you guys believe in aliens? Like there’s gotta at least be some bacteria that lived, or that used to live billions of years ago, on a planet billions of light years away

“The problem with the Soviet Union was not that they lacked technological innovation. The problem was that the benefits did not accrue to their people” 🤓🤓 shut the fuck up LMAOO

I was enjoying reading Merchants of Dount until I got to the conclusion. “Like it’s bête noire, Marxism, laissez-faire economics claimed to be scientific, based upon immutable laws of nature, and also like Marxism, it has not stood the test of experience.” According to who? “‘Scientific socialism’ wasn’t scientific because when evidence suggested that some of its central claims might be wrong, its advocates refused to accept that.” What central claims? What evidence? The methodology itself is scientific, even if “some claims” are disproven (no claims I’m aware of have even been disproven). Science gets stuff wrong all the time, throughout all of history, even though the methodology for reaching its conclusions are scientific. Was the Michelson–Morley experiment not science?

I’ve been pretty busy and haven’t been keeping up with the news lately can someone explain everything that’s happened this week? I know about the CEO, but Syria and South Korea? I saw someone say this is one of the weeks were decades happen and I feel out of the loop

Had an African friend (second generation immigrant) from college tell me today that systemic racism actually doesn’t exist (if his dad can move from a hut in Africa to America and put his kids through college anyone can!) and the reason why black americans commit crime and are impoverished is due to their “cancerous culture that promotes violence”. Why do they have this culture you might ask? To make excuses for themselves of course! But if getting a job and college education is as easy as he says it is then why the need to make excuses? Could it be because it’s an idealist argument that relies on circular logic?

If we’re talking strictly the neoliberal era would it be too out there to say 1. Bush Jr 2. Reagan 3. Biden? All time though probably Andrew Jackson

To be fair it was mostly the ethnic deportations (which was obviously bad, but deliberate genocide? Idk) but also the Holodomor lol

Undoubtedly good, but the wikipedia article only lists two American genocides against Native Americans (the California genocide and Trail of Tears)?? And accredits the Soviet Union with 4 genocides lmao

Just saw a TikTok blaming Gen Z men voting for Trump on the fact that their “heroes” are Anakin, that dude from Attack on Titan, and Paul Atreides 😭

Exactly, it’s mind boggling to see every major news outlet run headlines calling him Trump’s “border czar” simultaneously. Not only was Obama’s border czar the same position, it was the same guy! Obama handpicked Tom Homan to be the director of ICE’s deportation branch exiting his second term where record deportations were carried out and Obama rewarded him for it with a Presidential Rank Award
