Not all corporal punishment by parents is "beating". I was belted, but it wasn't done out of anger (maybe only sometimes). It was just a misguided method of disciplining, done "for my benefit".

In other words, wizards do exist, they are just called IT specialists.
They just have such ridiculously OP tech that you can solve virtually any problem with ease. For instance:
- Beam the entire thing and then purge the rock from buffer before materialistic (they do that with guns and viruses)
- Beam them into a holodeck and create holo-supports
- Beam-dig? Transport chunks of rock to the side until you have enough "sensor lock".
There are no absolutes in language, there are only reasonable deductions and guidelines. If enough people say something "wrong" enough times, it becomes "right". Which is is why there's a bunch of exceptions in languages. Best we can do is stick to making speech as unambiguous and as easy to understand as possible.
It's not really a fandom thing and more of an English grammar thing.
- "Red shirt" is a noun phrase. It means "shirt is red".
- "Redshirt" (or red-shirt) is a compound noun. This is a new word with its own meaning, in this instance – expendable starship crew members.
It's the same difference as with:
- Black board (a board that is "not ok") vs. blackboard (a board used for tic-tac-toe championships)
- Hot dog (a man's best friend in need of AC) and hotdog (a phallic mystery meat consumable)
etc.
You can use your old USB-A to C cables, it's not mandatory to use the new cables. For me, they often stay in the box, because all of my chargers already have cables anyway.
Everything else you said it's just examples of how other manufacturers still bundle e-waste. This is in no way a counter-argument. I'm not saying companies aren't assholes, the problem isn't that they don't include chargers. The problem is that they exclude chargers and keep the price the same without any significant improvements to the phone itself.
Vast majority of buyers these days already have chargers, and the bundled charger will only bump the price, only to be chucked into a drawer to stay there forever. If a consumer does need a charger, there are plenty good options on the market with multi-port options.
Can we please stop complaining about lack of chargers bundled with phones? If the phone is overpriced, then sure, maybe it's fair, but if the price of the charger is subtracted from the price of the phone, then that's the right thing to do, the charger can be bought separately if needed. Everybody has like a dozen USB chargers at home, it's standard now. No need to bundle e-waste.
Why? What grammatical mistake did I make?
I mean, I've seen the Computer beam them up in most sub-optimal conditions. Usually, on away missions, using the shuttle. And I, of course, understand that the real answer is "because the plot demands it". But it still annoys me a bit.
