I'm a bit scared of vipers, haha. Did they leave when you were getting closer? Were you just in the Pyrenees or are these pictures from another time? Really loved it there and I want to go back for more.

I'd usually have zero problems with cross posting, it's usually because someone is interested in the topic or appreciates the post. Good intentions. I have been cross posted a few times before and thought that was neat.

The last post of mine that got crissposted to corvids apparently got removed by the sopuli admin for being "spam" lol, I guess someone reported it.

Crowsposting, huh? Good one 😁

I don't think what they do could reasonably considered being "tasteful". Honestly bums me out on the fediverse, makes me not want to post to crows because i will get angry when minutes later the repost comes in.

Are you a bot? Stop reposting my content here you fucking self-righteous prick.

Corvids is almost all reposts of things that get posted to crows, in an attempt to keep away interaction from crows because it is hosted on the wrong instance. Personally i think it is just disgusting what they are doing there.

Aw that lil bluejay looks so cute in deed, i guess that's him.

edit: oh and thanks for the shelter update, i hope you keep us informed :)

Love it! I was blown away how many vultures i saw in spain last year on a cycling trip, so cool to see them, and to get the top view on them like in your photo is so cool.

This seems to be a whole field of rabbit holes. Tried to wrap my head around your calculation yesterday evening, and what it'd mean for my ancient m43 cameras, that was a bit confusing at first (where is the crop factor!), i have never really messed with by-x lenses. But i think the penny has eventually dropped, haha. Then i got sidetracked on how microscope rulers are being made. I reckon you have your setup calibrated.

Thank you for the interesting pointers.

I have this tiny water pistol that i used to scare away an overtly aggressive pigeon that i did not want to hang around the balcony. I felt somewhat bad about it, but then again it's just water, nobody gets harmed. It worked really well, nowadays when it shows up i just have to point the pistol at it and it leaves. I'm pretty sure that it knows i am only "dangerous" from a distance if i have the pistol in my hand.

I tried it on the cat from the balcony, but it's too weak from that distance to make an impression. Might invest in a super soaker if they start hanging around there too much.

Maybe with some kind of water gun 😅

My neighbor's cats were also stalking around the feeder in our garden, but luckily they seem to only be out occasionally.

It comes with a dust cover, so no worries ;)

Oh well, haha! I watched microbehunters review, looks like a real cool microscope. Are you using any other lighting than the integrated led?

And the camera adapter, this is not just a plastic (or metal) part to fit into the tube so the camera would use the actual microscope lens, but it's something that has its own optics too?

Love the light there in the evening.
