Now is the time to see who might run for house/senate seats and encourage those you like, insult those you don't, and volunteer. See if we can replace some of the spineless DNC members.

You're not wrong! Alas I am an admin, not the host. Also we wanted it to be very obvious that it's a game jam about blind accessibility. Could he have picked a different name? Probably, but at this point we're kinda committed!

"Oh, jokes just normally have a punchline and aren't just stating something really backwards"

If you end up working in the medical/insurance field in the USA, you don't even need basic math! The numbers the programs output are just all made up!

I had the audacity the other day to ask in what order we apply deductibles. (YOU want a deductible applied to something covered at 10%, not 100%. The insurance wants it applied to something covered at a100%) I was told it just picks some at random and hopes for the best, so we use the word "best effort" when it comes to estimating what insurance will pay, since they'll make that up anyway.

So yeah, just another throwing in that it super matters where you work. At my job we plug in what is industry standard for medical accounting, and say it's just an estimate on everything else.

Not the part about giving away your riches or loving your neighbor though.

He had no comments on "which" teachings though, I'm sure.

Ahh man all I got was a disabled mom and prison dad.

Think I can trade him for a rich dad to a rich person who wants to claim they had a rough child hood?

I remember 14 years ago in high school I was kicking around the idea of becoming a court reporter (type out everything said in court) , but was told "nooo look at Siri, that'll totally replace all that soon!"

No, no it's not. We don't want things like that making choices like that.

Also was told "C and C++ is too old, learn something newer"

People get too excited about new tech, not thinking about why the old tech stands the test of time.

Perfection can never be the enemy of progress! Cleaning out nazis will always be progress, if not "always" perfection.

Nazi hunting?...

Run the code.

RUN IT.

Can they please look up a guide on how to make a stable government already?

Ooh and how many women apparently wear the HIGHEST quality water proof make up at all times!

Realistic hacking scenes would be funny.

"Okay I'm in"

"Wait... how?"

"Oh I figured out the default passwords and naming conventions for new employees awhile ago."

Funnily enough I got my college to change password policies because for a report for one of my classes I wrote about how stupid it was that all new users passwords were First intial + last initial + last four of social security number, with usernames being firstname + lastname + year. Since they had no max number of attempts on logins, and didn't prompt you to change password on logging in, it took a few minutes to get into anyone's account once you knew their name. (That school was very incompetent, and they are closed now)

OR

"Give me 20 minutes, I'm on hold with IT. They'll reset the password and tell me it if I give them an employee ID, dob, and name. Which I see clearly on this guys facebook picture where he has his badge visibile."

Or a hacking guy trying to brute force for days. Then the "no nonsense" guy goes out for 20 minutes, and comes back with it and refused to answer questions. Oh wait... that's just XKCD.

I saw the trailer for "American society of magical Negroes" and it looked kinda funny in the first 20 seconds, then the trailer went on to show what I'm pretty sure was literally everything in the movie.

Are there any other trailers that made you lose all interest in seeing it because it showed literally everything?

Context: my gf mentioned getting a vpn for privacy, and I tried to explain that it "does" help, but it's more like type of windows on a house. It certainly can be part of the package, but it's no where near the foundation.

So i tried to explain the best that i could That if she was worried about online privacy the first step wasn't to mask traffic, but to not submit personal data to anything online like FB, not use Google services that package everything on you together to sell to advertisers, and to limit phone apps to essentials.

But I'm curious on what other steps you guys would consider the "foundation" of online privacy that should be prioritized before a vpn. Any thoughts? Or am I way off base?

Note: this is in context of vpn for privacy. Using vpn to avoid Geo blocking and censorship I see as incredibly valid for those that need it.

My best (stupid) guess is weapons. US gov has a ton of weapons. Already sells tons of weapons. Now the prices will always remain stable. Other countries would love to know that 30 million usd would always be able to buy an f15. Other countries declaring war will increase the value of the USD, as buying weapons from us government will decrease amount of money in circulation.

I try to stream my favorite games, and I will get small audiences because I do events in the online games. But whenever I try to edit or listen back I feel like I'm in pain.

Is it really annoying, or is it just that everyone hates their voice?

A lot of the devs went way outside their comfort zone to make these games, and all feedback/rating would be super appreciated! Also a good way to learn about how games can be made blind accessible!

It's a website that lets you sort amazon by price per ounce/pound/count

https://bangyourbuck.com/

Some examples are:

Cheapest rice per pound https://bangyourbuck.com/search/rice/Lb/US/grid

Cheapest batteries by count: https://bangyourbuck.com/search/aa%20batteries/Count/US/grid

Hard drives by terabyte: https://bangyourbuck.com/search/hard%20drive/Terabyte/US/grid

Been using it for months, and I can't stand using Amazon without it now.

In the US it's not crazy for kids maybe as young as 6 to make themselves sandwiches like a PB&J/Ham & Cheese either if parents have an emergency, or to take to lunch for themselves because parents didn't have time. (Or you know, they're neglectful)

So is there a go to food for children to make in other cultures?

EDIT: Sorry for phrasing it like teaching 6 year olds to cook is mainly to help parents. Personal experience of dad going to prison and mom working 12 hour days at early age shined through. So me being taught to cook wasn't "This is a skill that'll be useful as you grow older" but instead was a "Things are going to be rough, and sometimes things won't work out with me being there when I need too, and I want you to be able to be okay in an emergency". So cooked myself food when I was little probably a lot more than others, then when I was a teenager I was cooking dinner for the family a lot.

But makes sense it wasn't the case for others! Still the curious, what other cultures teach their children to cook!

The people who say they need 3 cups of black coffee to start their day are just addicts with a high tolerance that experience mild withdrawal symptoms each morning.

If you feel like that, it's your body crying for you to take a break.

If you like an occasional cup of coffee or energy drink to get through something, then that's fine. But if you ever feel like one isn't working like it used to, you should take a break from caffeine to reset your tolerance, not up the dosage like an addict.

In Utah County the cheapest "House" for sale is 600 square feet, 2 bed, 1 bath, at $300k.

So at current interest rate it would be $1,800 a month mortgage(assuming you put the 60k down payment! A decent amount more if you do 3% down.)

The cheapest condo/town in utah valley is 205k, 1,100 square feet, on a 400 square foot lot. But due to a $500 HOA fee the monthly cost is still 1,700 a month (assuming 20% down).

With 3.5% down they'd both be closer to 2.1k +PIMI.

So yeah, how is where you live doing?
