My area introduced tiers for medical forgiveness based on household income, even if I made twice as much there'd still be some degree of assistance. May be worth looking into for your family.

It's not. If you can't afford a dentist you're not middle class. IDK where dude lives, but I make $100k in a major metro area in the USA and consider myself middle class. My family still qualifies for partial forgiveness from medical bills.

You're talking toxic masculinity, he's talking about these children being inundated with propaganda via social media. Very few middle and high school students watched Fox news in the 00's whereas now it's being algorithmically jammed down their throats.

Social media is going to cause the fall of the USA and it's so fucking sad to watch. Social media needs to be scheduled as/like a drug.

For 99% of owners a panel van would be the better option, but their masculinity is tied to other people's perception of them, so they pay the small dick tax.

I rent a truck for the afternoon on the rare occasion I need one

It was really sad reading a post on Reddit yesterday where they were applauding the Republicans for moving $2 billion in benefits for veteran housing... How did they forget about the $22 billion that just got cut for veteran medical benefits?

I'm constantly reminded that Socrates was correct and that democracy has too many unqualified and uninformed voters and will give rise to demagogues.

Well how the fuck do we get this ball rolling? I'm ready and it feels like a load of others are ready to fix this too.

Yup, like almost every modern amenity is from socialism. All capitalism has done for me lately is... Umm... What the fuck has capitalism done for me lately?

Yup, that golden age when we came back from the depression was because of socialist policies FDR put in place and the rich immediately began to vilify (note these rich clowns caused the depression).

Socialism isn't a boogyman, it's the reason anything is working at all.

There's just more and more of this lately. We give money to the govt, they fork it over to some company, they use money to make a product I have to pay for, again.

Sorry that's just fucking dumb. Don't bail companies out or give huge grants, make them compete for contracts and have the people own a portion to reduce cost to the US consumer. It's socialism, sure. But at least we'd come out ahead instead of getting hosed again.

I installed PPSSPP on my phone and paired a switch joycon. Played through a few really good games that way when my kid required being held to sleep. I'd imagine you could pair one to your computer and find some games that you'd like.

Yup, I have colleagues who live closer to the office than me who take 50% longer to get in because they're competing with a train and a commuter scooter.

Literally paying for a vacation with the cash it saved me, and I've managed to read a dozen books and play tons of retro games. I love cars and car culture, but fuck me it's so dumb to use a car when there's other options. Like using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.

This is why PC is and always will be better than a traditional console. "Oh the dev won't do this, good thing the modding scene already has a workaround."
