Will it work if I do this from Canada? I haven't had a period in over 4 years (help, I've been pregnant for 4 years!) But I want to help y'all too!

Ah okay. In Canada the day after remembrance day is usually the "respectful" start of the season.

So, tomorrow presumably?

I think Mercury's been in retrograde for a really long time, can we ask the astrologers to fix it so the world can go back to being sane?

Lol the NDP only won by like 20 votes this election so not as progressive as you'd think. Also our NDP is still center left so not that progressive at all.

Accessible abortion rights will almost certainly be back on the chopping block next election.

I don't think we'll have it nearly as bad as America because our political system works a bit differently but the conservative leader/party definitely have the hallmarks of trumpism with white nationalism, climate change denying, anti-women and anti-trans issues. They're going to play the same "we're better for the economy" game as well.

Pretty sure everyone in the world is either 30, 60 or a child.

In that context it makes sense though, it's being used as an adjective, as is "older".

In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry. It's such a nice catchy tune that I enjoyed until my partner pointed out:

Have a drink, have a drive Go out and see what you can find If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal If her daddy's poor, just do what you feel

Which, ew.

I think pumped up kicks is actually a really poignant statement on how normalized gun violence is in the states, to the point where this song was all over radios and I'm sure all over high school dances and nobody thought twice about it. Like obviously the band did it intentionally but the fact that the point was missed so hard by everyone who sang along. It is like Hey Ya vibes to me, or smells like teen spirit for the older crowds. The point is to take these very serious ideas and use them to highlight people's willful ignorance.

I'm Canadian, but I think after next year I'll be on our own track, only with a slightly smaller and less effective train
