I was focusing on the notion of 'Not my business. Their data', because when our data becomes their, it is not solely their data anymore...

Plus, their data becomes a bridge to ours.

A bridge that connects our information makes privacy a shared concern.

Okay, but what if their carelessness about privacy directly or indirectly affects you? For instacne, if someone in your contacts doesn't prioritize privacy and has granted apps access to their contacts, it could potentially expose your information indirectly.

Gallery permissions too. It doesn't matter if you've sent them something via a private&secure app, if they don't care about gallery/file permissions that could potentially be exposed.

You can send them an address or any other data you want to keep private via private app, they copy it and voila, it is in their unsecured keyboard. + If they don't care which app grants clipboard permissions, ah...

Also, it's a silly example, but let's say someone uses the same username on every network. They become an easy target for OSINT. If they follow a few people, including you (and worst-case scenario, only you), it's very easy for someone to reach you through that person. As someone who has had a few stalkers in life (not just in the digital world but also in real life), every little detail like this matters.

People who don't take care of their privacy but have contact with you expose you in various ways. It's challenging to maintain privacy, no matter how many phones, phone numbers, or spoof accounts you have, if you want to be friends with someone who doesn't prioritize privacy.

Hey, it's not that easy to brick phones with Qualcomm processors because there are many resurrection methods, so congratulations. I hope you recovered aftr losing your phone because it didn't 😭

Hmm, I don't have a phone with Leica lenses, so I don't really know, but if you're interested, I believe someone has already discussed it on the xiaomi.eu forum.

Yes, that's one of the drawbacks. However, you can find the app package name quite easily by long-pressing the icon of the desired app on your phone, then tapping on App Info, and finally on the ℹ️ icon for additional information.

I saw that there is a way to remove system apps as you envisioned using the Canta app in combination with Shizuku app. But I've never personally tried this method.

I'm actually glad that you allowed yourself to let the first reactions subside, found a way to customize system to your liking, and gave MIUI another chance. I've heard MIUI users everywhere say 'shit MIUI,' but it seems to my luck that I've never been able to understand why. Though, as soon as I got my Poco, I immediately flashed Xiaomi eu ROM (which is essentially the original Chinese MIUI version with all the its features but with ads removed), and I'm really satisfied. MIUI is feature-rich, and to have some of those on some other Android/ROM, you'd need to install additional apps.

With this tool, I uninstalled about 40 apps and disabled around 10 (in settings you can choose to uninstall or disable).

And if you're rooted or have Shizuku, there are other methods to do this directly from the phone. For example, AppManager is my favorite

You can uninstall bloatware with this PC tool (root IS NOT required)

Here is a Openboard fork which has Material You, and this is a Florisboard version also with Material (Gboard alike) design themes

Yap, and if you like the Gboard Material You look, you can try this Florisboard version with dynamic themes also

+1 for Florisboard. Patrick is diligently working on the NLP. Currenlty it is in phase 2 which is also the most important and the most challenging.

In the meantime, if someone wants the Material You version of Florisboard that visually resembles Gboard, you can check it here
