It's better than dealing with whatever terrible nonsense they put on LGs and Samsungs. I was really close to getting an LG because everyone says it's the best looking but I just couldn't imagine going back to completely unmodifiable TV OS, so I got the Sony instead which still looks absolutely fantastic and I have my custom launcher on it set exactly how I want it.

Take a break for a few months. Nothing any of us can do right now besides hope the damp paper party can do something to make it harder for the next government. Next year, join an organization that is trying to do something and has good leadership. Run for something if you can. Go to protests. Don't obey.

I'm pretty sure "apple mail" refers to the Mail app on iPhones and Macs, not the email address. There's probably tons of people using Gmail addresses with the Apple Mail app.

More like a steam turbine (which is way cooler cause it's like a jet engine). Steam engine makes me think of a piston engine like on a train.

In my experience if 2 cars arrive at a 4 way then it's just pure panic until someone decides to go. Drives me up a wall.

I think I interpreted it the same way the original commenter did, but I see now we're all on the same page.

Maybe instead of saying she was "supposed to" it would be more clear you meant her campaign was "trying to".

Residential water use (especially in cities) is a very small portion. Entire cities use less water than some farms. The problem with water in Southern California is Imperial Valley.

From another reply it seems it's a modification of a poster from 1918, so in the original under the signature is actually an 18.

When the final count is done, the sad news is that he did get more popular. And the wildest thing is the demographics that he got more popular with.

Sorry if I was unclear, I was just speaking to California, which is the only state with a significant number of votes left to count. Last I checked nationally we were at 95% counted.

It's looking like a slightly lower turnout, but also there's 5+ million votes still to count. So Trump will gain votes even though turnout is down. Pretty bad times, never been more disappointed in the electorate.

Millions more votes from California, Harris and Trump will both get 40% more votes than they have now by the time counting is complete. That's 2.9 million for Harris and 1.9 for Trump. Completely changes the graph. Harris lost something like 5-10% of Biden electorate and Trump gained a few percent of his. Still bad for Harris but doesn't support the narrative this chart wants to be true.

Recently I started noticing that a lot of posts will mark as read for a second then go back to unread when viewing just the image or article. It's not all posts though and I haven't determined a pattern yet, but opening the comments seems to mark as read on refresh even though the post looks unread before refreshing.

I'm on version 122 of Sync on Android.

*** Solved: it was pointed out there is a Lemmy setting that enables showing read posts, rather than a Sync setting.

At some point I think I enabled a setting to hide read posts automatically, but now I can't seem to find a way to stop this behavior. There is also no method to unhide posts. So now once I've read a post, after I refresh it is gone forever in the app.

Tried resetting all settings back to default and erased user data in android but it seems stuck, maybe to my user account?
