It's not fair!

I always found it funny in the Between Two Ferns bloops when Zach asks that to Brie:

The response from MAGA and stuff was disgusting too. Just shows you they're horrible people to their core.

I agree, this guy was a twat!

I'm j/king. People change all the time, it's okay to acknowledge that.

I'm confused. Epstein definitely did the crimes of trafficking children to be raped by wealthy people.

Why would a client list not be a real?

I grew up just following my mum around the kitchen. I remember literally watching pots of water boil. When the bubbles form and they look like eyes and stuff. When I heard the saying, I was always a bit confused until I realized I'm a weirdo.

So many of my Americans friends are like: "it was old news a while back, you guys are still hung up on it?".

I'm like ... dude ...

A lot of people aren't going to the states because they're afraid of ICE. I'm not going because they threatened my country and mocked it. Then I see Americans lay back and go "why you taking it so seriously?" or even worse is when I see interviews of them accusing us of taking advantage of America and joke about us being the 51st state.

It's just painting a picture. The story could just as easily been putting together a family dinner and focusing on what everyone's preferences that you've learned over the years. Or something more Lemmy based would be dealing with a production issue as a developer and then BAM dick pic.

It's just story telling to me.

I felt it was a bit much to be honest as well. Felt like it was a bit odd for it to go as long as it did.

I will just say that things in tech change a lot in general. That's just the nature of it.

If I can do one small thing that makes people feel better, then why wouldn't I do it?

I don't necessarily see that as a connection to a measure of competency. It seems you do and you probably have good reasons to believe so and I would say that I haven't experienced that.

If it uses master and it's too much trouble to get people to switch. It stays master until we can coordinate.

If I'm starting a new project I use main.

Why?

It doesn't take much to do and it avoids any misunderstandings or arguments and we've got work to do. I don't particular care if you guys are "stuck" on master. If that's what it is and everyone wants to keep it that way, I don't have enough will to change it. If it's under my control, I will change it.

I enjoyed it! My friends not as much as me.

They said they wouldn't care to see a sequel.

movie talkI thought it was the Superman I expected from Gunn.

I liked how "real" his Kansas parents felt? Like they weren't big name actors or nothing and sounded like regular parents.

The monster in the back while he was talking to Lois was hilarious.

Lois reminded me of Courtney Cox so much for some reason.

I also like how Superman was obsessed with saving people than punching enemies. It made me happy. Genuinely enjoyed this movie and I'm excited for Supergirl.

Hi all,

I'm traveling for a few months so I picked up a used gaming laptop from one of those trading sites. It's an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 2024.

I initially went with Windows because I wanted to game. I was gonna miss my terminal for dev and a bunch of other things but I thought compatibility and not dealing with hassle was more important for now. The thing is, for some reason, the laptop would be running really hot all the time ... even when idling.

I got fed up and I put Pop OS! loaded steam with the compatibility stuff and ran a few games really well. My only issue so far was that the laptop keyboard didn't work during installation but after an update it was fine. The laptop obviously gets hot when running games but when idling it runs really cool.

This is now making me feel like I can convert my gaming desktop over as well!

I was considering Bazzite too? Anyone know if it's worth it?

This was originally titled: 1 Christian v 20 Atheists, but it seems they changed it after JP keeps muddying the waters.

Update: I get why most of you wouldn't want to watch the video. I went to a men's group therapy session and went after the organizer for recommending me a Jordan Peterson book. I get it. The video, however, isn't a Jordan Peterson channel (yes I know we're still bumping him in the algorithm) but I think it fit the community for sure.

I just don't get why you would comment: "I'm not watching that." Congrats dude. I know it's for you, not every video is. There is some value in seeing Peterson get dunked on and seeing the way he weasels out of things and getting called out. If you think it's not worth the cost of watching the video. I'm not going to disagree with that. That's cool too. We can all be cool about things.

I didn't sign up for any list. I also heard that you shouldn't text STOP to these messages because they use that as confirmation of my number?

I reported it to spam, I'm just curious if these are legit and how you handle these?

I'm watching a video by Zac Rios about people buying lavish Easter Baskets for their kids and such:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDfCjp9fSGI

I know there's an Easter hunt in school and for kids and stuff, but I've never received or heard anyone receiving an Easter basket as a gift living in Canada/UK for the past 40 years of my life.

I googled and "Google AI" says that it is a thing in Canada, but I don't trust it.

Is this a thing that I've completed missed? If this is a tradition for you, where are you from and how long have you done this?
