I love it. It's what I'd love to do as well.

So many of my friends lost a lot of money doing an event they hated setting up and couldn't wait to be over. (although if big weddings are your thing then that's fine too)

What type of ceremony did you have?

[–] lobut@lemmy.ca 4 points 14 hours ago

apart from not having a car

I think they were implying that if that was not something that was negotiable then you could move onto reducing red meat intake.

Seriously, isn't reading documents/cases a bare minimum for their exorbitant fees?

Factorio is a game where I'll spend so much time and getting pretty far. Then I'll "refactor" some parts for efficiency. Then I get like a new science and I'll be like, I can't make this work and give up.

Then I'll start again later thinking I'll get it right the next time!

Although, if I had my robo flying stuff set up correctly then this wouldn't be an issue.

Canadians are way too used to getting shafted.

I currently pay monthly but if I had to get a PAYG plan, I'd go with something like Saily: https://saily.com/esim-canada/

Or one of those other eSim companies. However, I'm not sure if it's just data or if it'll give you a number. Typically with PAYG I'm happy with just data, but I know it doesn't work for everyone. The cost is pretty wild though, I'm in London UK right now and I got a 200GB PAYG SIM for the same price as the 20GB SIM on Saily.

Freedom's Prepaid looks alright-ish?

I forgot I had a hunting knife in my bag. Yes very stupid, I know.

I got pulled over by airport security and when they asked me to open up the pocket. I found a water bottle on top of my knife and showed that to them and they said it was fine. I didn't realize the knife was there until I got home and unpacked.

That's because you need to do things like stay hydrated, eat a healthy diet and keep your cell division count as low as possible.

I'm going to use slightly more words than you but she's a modern day conservative: Her special circumstances are "okay" however other peoples are not. She should be protected, others should not.

For some reason I imagine Caleb Hammer screaming a response to this.

Moved in with my brother to help raise his twin boys. Him and his wife are not capable of caring for two kids on their own. I moved out after they grew up a bit and could take care of themselves more. I always thought my brother would make a good dad. Not sure too many can in this day and age.

Hi all,

I'm traveling for a few months so I picked up a used gaming laptop from one of those trading sites. It's an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 2024.

I initially went with Windows because I wanted to game. I was gonna miss my terminal for dev and a bunch of other things but I thought compatibility and not dealing with hassle was more important for now. The thing is, for some reason, the laptop would be running really hot all the time ... even when idling.

I got fed up and I put Pop OS! loaded steam with the compatibility stuff and ran a few games really well. My only issue so far was that the laptop keyboard didn't work during installation but after an update it was fine. The laptop obviously gets hot when running games but when idling it runs really cool.

This is now making me feel like I can convert my gaming desktop over as well!

I was considering Bazzite too? Anyone know if it's worth it?

This was originally titled: 1 Christian v 20 Atheists, but it seems they changed it after JP keeps muddying the waters.

Update: I get why most of you wouldn't want to watch the video. I went to a men's group therapy session and went after the organizer for recommending me a Jordan Peterson book. I get it. The video, however, isn't a Jordan Peterson channel (yes I know we're still bumping him in the algorithm) but I think it fit the community for sure.

I just don't get why you would comment: "I'm not watching that." Congrats dude. I know it's for you, not every video is. There is some value in seeing Peterson get dunked on and seeing the way he weasels out of things and getting called out. If you think it's not worth the cost of watching the video. I'm not going to disagree with that. That's cool too. We can all be cool about things.

Sorted Food guys taste potentially pretentious ingredients and judge them. Just a bit of fun.

I didn't sign up for any list. I also heard that you shouldn't text STOP to these messages because they use that as confirmation of my number?

I reported it to spam, I'm just curious if these are legit and how you handle these?

I'm watching a video by Zac Rios about people buying lavish Easter Baskets for their kids and such:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDfCjp9fSGI

I know there's an Easter hunt in school and for kids and stuff, but I've never received or heard anyone receiving an Easter basket as a gift living in Canada/UK for the past 40 years of my life.

I googled and "Google AI" says that it is a thing in Canada, but I don't trust it.

Is this a thing that I've completed missed? If this is a tradition for you, where are you from and how long have you done this?
