If a post is titled “A reminder on the difference between demonstrations and protests”, then I expect an explanation of what that difference is. I was hoping to be educated, not lectured at.

I think it’s great when assholes enthusiastically identify themselves. Saves me time. MAGA hat? T-shirt with some kind of bigoted “joke’? A shit-test from this moron? Thanks for letting me know that you’re not worth any effort at all!

Yup. The more I think about it, the more it bothers me. It makes me think of Asimov’s robot stories, and the Spacer’s ridiculous, harmful over reliance on robots.

Whatever you choose to do (my vote is to talk to a therapist solo), do it soon. I don’t mean that you should put pressure on yourself and rush things, but that I don’t want you to spend any more time feeling stuck and unhappy.

If/when you talk to your partner about divorce, I expect they’ll promise anything in order to change your mind. Be prepared for the avalanche of bullshit, and don’t believe a word they say. Without you, they’ll actually have to be financially responsible for themselves. That is their real fear.

Edit: don’t second guess yourself when it turns out you’re not 100% right. That’s an impossible standard. Even in the most lopsided cases, the obviously wronged party can still take a tiny amount of blame. Plus (no offense intended) it sounds like it would be pretty easy to get you to feel responsible for things that aren’t actually your fault. Don’t be afraid to be tough.

My uneducated self was wondering how suffocation could be considered “humane”, but now I see that’s not what is happening. Thanks to your post, I have a better understanding of the process. I’m still against the death penalty, but I appreciate the info nonetheless. Thanks!

Okay. These reasons make sense. Thanks!

I just do that to be courteous to the dentist, so my breath isn’t gross. I know it’s still obvious that I don’t floss. I see what you’re getting at, but it isn’t quite the same.

That asshole Netanyahu puts me more on Palestine’s side every day.

Fuck their two months. Permanent ceasefire or nothing.

I’ve never understood this thought process. Sure, getting some stuff out of their way makes sense (like getting shoes off the floor so the cleaners can vacuum), but why clean?

I’m usually much more merciful, but this guy pisses me off. He threatened to cripple a woman for life, and ruin the lives of her family members. I don’t care if the argument was “immature” and the guy is “misguided”. Those were major threats, and the fear he created is very real.

Being a hardcore nationalist is not a defense. Send this wannabe CCP agent back to the country he loves so much.

This is an excellent article. I work hard for my boss because my boss is good to me. I actively look for stuff to do because I give a shit about him and the people I work with. That is not the case when my employer treats me like a replaceable asset instead of a person.

I simply love the title of this post.
