I'ma be honest I live for Dems pearl clutching over this shit, it's hilarious to me. A barely socialist Muslim wins a primary and libs are literally comparing it to 9/11 on Fox News.

We won't apologize for the terror, but it hasn't even started yet and they're already pissing and shitting themselves. Genuinely, this kinda thing should be the signal to so many people that socialism is a legitimate threat to the status quo. I really hope Mamdani gets more radical and doesn't capitulate, but history says he'll be a sheepdog if he even wins

Yeah, they'd have to read it for this to even matter

There probably is. A couple of years ago there were tons of videos and memes and stuff about him being the antichrist. Anything that gets that much attention is gonna end up being at least a TikTok cult or something

The pledge of allegiance was even written by a Christian socialist of some sort

It's funny I typed a reply very similar to this. China is making plans and following through for 20+ years while the US can barely stick to a plan for 3 months

She referred to leaving the EU without a deal as the “real [n-word] in the woodpile”.

She later apologised for the remarks, saying: “The comment was totally unintentional. I apologise unreservedly for any offence caused.”

A racist and a coward (I repeat myself). Can't even be proud of it like a proper white supremacist smh my head

It's like the US is just handing their power to China. I love it, but are they just that dumb or is there some benefit to the ruling class I'm not seeing?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall have basic human rights

I try to find ways to exercise that I enjoy anyway or that can give me some sense of satisfaction afterwards.

I do a good bit of hiking when I have the time and in-between I walk up and down this steep hill with stairs cut into the side of it on my way to the creek. I wander around a bit looking for critters and stuff, so lots of squatting. If I haven't had time to do a real hike, I carry my ruck on these walks to the creek. In the warmer months I'll walk/swim in the creek about a mile to the river and then walk the road back.

I also have been helping my neighbor who owns the property where the creek is and let's me walk her land whenever I want. I make sure the trail stays relatively clear and over the last couple of years I built a lot of primitive steps using split logs and mud from the creek. I don't really enjoy the manual labor that much, but when I'm done I have neat looking stairs that grow moss/fungi on them and the first set I made survived two floods so far

But yeah, I have a really hard time exercising in normal ways like at a gym or something. I can tolerate bodyweight exercises if I'm in the right environment (outside and alone), but nothing can make me want to lift weights regularly.

Animal Crossing is fun if you like doing the same thing every day. I imagine it's not as active now, so the multiplayer aspects might not be as enjoyable. I view the game as a satire of consumerism and predatory lending, which I don't think it really is, but it should be. It really satisfies that collecting/completionist itch for me.

The only other games I've played a lot have already been recommended, but I'll add another for Mario Kart and Breath of the Wild. Breath of the Wild is probably the best game I played on the Switch, tons of content there and some of the puzzles are quite good (some are not) and if you're into 100% completion it'll keep you busy until Baron is the new president .

Edit: my best advice is to get a proper controller and it doesn't have to be the Nintendo brand. The joycons suck for a lot of reasons
