I am considering moving off windows but am extremely not tech-savvy. Is there a good place for me to start?

My husband still doesn't use it, the hunt for his keys is getting old

This was my answer as well. It's an amazing book amd I always recommend it.

America is a capitalist nation. The Republicans openly support it. The Democrats less openly support it.

Socialism breaks the mold, it evens the playing field for everyone - people part of the establishment will always oppose it.

Somebody Somewhere reminds me of me after college. Felt like I was just on auto pilot, wouldn't go outside my comfort zone unless pushed, and used alcohol to numb the pain.

Life is better now :)

So very glad I got to benefit from this 3 years ago, it is a true shame if it goes away. I get to be rural and work at a company in the city.

Paper Towels and Trash Bags - the cheap ones just don't hold up as well

So that black mirror episode wasn't fiction?

It's not an easy journey. I know when I started I would always think about having a drink just on my birthday or jyst one at a party. But at the end of the day I know I can't handle one, one always leads to many more than one.

For me I remember the first sober month being hard to just be sober. Sober months 2-6 were me trying to justify having a drink here and there for fun in the future. Then finally I just realized my life is a trillion times better without alcohol so why bother with it. The temptations come and go, much more infrequently now, but I'm happy being sober and do not plan to mess with the happiness.

How can I unscrew and remove this from my tub drain? It won't loosen when turning by hand or flat head screwdriver. It cracked when I tried a wrench

I work at a place where data quality is not on anyone's radar. We have a reporting team in our group so we do our best where we can, but combining any datasets with other groups (like marketing & sales) is next to impossible as each team is silo'd and do things their own way - think free-form text fields to tag content...

How can I politely and succinctly say the above? Also, anyone else in a similar boat?

Just curious if anyone has any advice for my situation. I am a petite lady who needs to wear business / business casual outfits for work. I've been lifting heavy for the past year or so and my arms no longer fit into my long sleeve shirts (biceps/Triceps are too big). Is there a brand / store / service anyone can recommend so I can buy more fitting business attire? Thanks!

In 2023 I had United Health Care as my Healthcare provider. They had $22B+ in profits in 2023. Starting in 2024 they dropped UVM Health Network (a non profit) from their in-network coverage. How can this be allowed? Where can I express my opinion on the matter and at least attempt to have it heard? Thank you.

I'm powering through the rest of x files since it's leaving hulu in less than 2 weeks. This is the first season Mulder is missing a majority of it (the actor apparently was suing Fox).

Curious if anyone else thinks Scully's character went a bit downhill in this season? She's coming off as really unlikable and frankly just mean.

Scully is my favorite so it's a bit disheartening.

Very new to gardening. Very happy my garden hasn't died with all the crazy rain we're getting here!

Any friendly advice for these crazy cucumbers? They keep expanding! (2 squash on the right, 4 cucumbers to the left of them, then lettuce). Definitely going to give everything more room next year.

Last year I started a garden for the first time. Learned a lot! When I picked my squash last year it seemed fine, then I kept it on my counter for maybe a week before I noticed a small rotten spot on the underside. Eventually the rotten spot grew and I just composted the whole squash.

Not sure what went wrong. Was thinking -should I put hay or something under my squash when it starts to grow on the dirt?
