Democrats are more scared of the left than Nazis.

As (neo)liberals, they stand to lose a lot if real leftists were ever in control.

[–] Resonosity@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 days ago

Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds

[–] TORFdot0@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Well they are still on X which is owned by a guy who does Nazi salutes and whose AI chat bot calls himself Mecha Hitler ~(over giga Jew, but still wrong choice)~

So they will stay on that platform but won’t vote for this guy, yeah your comment rings pretty true

I love how this asshole talks about "cannibalizing support" when he's openly against the officially recognized Democratic nominee for mayor.

What a fucking joke. I hope to fuck he gets primaried too. We need to stop letting these corpo democrats suck up all the oxygen in the room.

How did he manage to stay relevant after his approval rating dropped to 27% in 2009?

[–] Fades@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Because democrat leadership is powerhungry controlled opposition. Same reason they didn't release the Epstein files either.

in case you forgot: https://www.salon.com/2019/06/19/joe-biden-to-rich-donors-nothing-would-fundamentally-change-if-hes-elected/

Nice, I think this is the most honest confirmation that Mamdani is in fact the best candidate.

[–] the_trash_man@lemmy.world 31 points 6 days ago

They're really gonna fuck him like Sanders huh

If they don't respect the candidate elected in the primaries, then the party has to go. I ain't voting blue no matter who any more. I fell for that these last 3 elections and look how far that took us.

Democratic leadership is controlled opposition, there's no other way to say it

[–] NauticalNoodle@lemmy.ml 16 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Even Jon Stewart said it this past Monday.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 27 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Just like the Republican factions in The Spanish Civil War attacking each other for having the wrong ideology while the Fascists tightened their grip.

The "lesser-evil" party. The lesser part maybe true but so is the evil part.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 9 points 6 days ago

The lesser part maybe true but so is the evil part.

Always has been, otherwise it wouldn't be called the "lesser-evil" party, it'd be called the "good" party.

We've known for decades (and I do mean everyone by 'we', I'm not even American) that the democrats are also corporate bootlickers. It's just that their policies tend to be less anti-human generally. For a while, it was clear: Vote dem, get some consumer protections and slow improvements in healthcare, LGBT rights, etc. Vote republican, get every good thing repealed and new anti-consumer, anti-lgbt, anti-healthcare legislation introduced. Now the dems want to cater to the right for votes and the "lesser" part of "lesser evil" is starting to diminish. They're still the lesser evil, but they're also more in the way of true progress than ever.

Its clear that Democrats are now the center (maybe center-right) party and there is no mainstream liberal party in the US

[–] OsrsNeedsF2P@lemmy.ml 10 points 6 days ago

My friends from Canada have been saying this since the Obama years

[–] redwattlebird@lemmings.world 3 points 6 days ago (4 children)

I think the last one was probably Bill Clinton? Pretty much since 9/11, America has moved towards the right and continues to do so. The Overton window had shifted so much for America over the last few decades.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

I think the last one was probably Bill Clinton?

Clinton kicked off the whole mess with his constant triangulation.

The Hillarycrats Ride Again!

[–] Ougie@lemmy.world 23 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Maybe finally people will start getting it in their heads that the current Democratic party - aside from the obvious outliers, Bernie, AOC, Warren etc - is not acting in their best interests...

[–] Alaik@lemmy.zip 27 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I really don't understand why Warren keeps being put in the company of Bernie or AOC.

Bernie and AOC are leftists (center left), and Warren is firmly center right at best.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 12 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I really don’t understand why Warren keeps being put in the company of Bernie or AOC.

For the same reason Corporate Dems kept screaming "Biden is the most progressive candidate since FDR!" at any left-liberal who would give them the time of day. She's not a serious politician. She's a fence post. This is how far the party is allowed to go and absolutely no further.

You put Warren in with Bernie and AOC today. Then, when we get another Hillary or a Buttigieg or whatever on the ticket in 2028, you can tell progressives "See? Warren is being reasonable and joining with the very popular center of the party. They have progressive cred. Idk wtf Bernie and AOC are on anymore. They've clearly gone off the deep end. Besides, Bernie is a misogynist and I think I heard AOC is part Chinese. And don't even think about voting for the Green Party. They're all a bunch of KGB-infiltrated Russians."

You know what, you're right. I only mentioned her because of that right to repair thing she promoted. To be honest I always thought that the right thing to do would be for her to just endorse Bernie in a united front against Hilary instead of splitting the vote and capitalizing on those sexists who wanted to vote for a woman instead of an old white man.

[–] TORFdot0@lemmy.world 16 points 6 days ago

By this guys logic shouldn’t he be supporting the winner of the primary and admonishing those who say they will vote 3rd party instead of the other way around?

Mamdani is a glimpse of hope

[–] ramsgrl909@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)
[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 19 points 6 days ago

Mamdani is the officially recognized Democratic nominee. So third party is exactly what this asshole is advocating for.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (8 children)

But why would he be in the fascist lite party to begin with?

I am so sick of seeing people abuse the word "tremendous" like this following in asshat's footsteps, but at least it's a nice, straightforward way for me to identify people to hit with a baseball bat if I can ever get away with it.
