One thing to note, it will become very difficult to unlock the bootloader once the device is updated to HyperOS. There is no way to unlock it if you have purchased the china version.

What made you choose crdroid over stock lineageOS?

When the google photos became a paid service crdroid was giving an option to do unlimited upload of photos by spoofing the device as pixel. It started like that and it gives more customization compared to lineageOS, so I stuck to it. I used both lineage and crdroid, there is no notable performance difference.

BTW, I'm not longer using Google photos for backup, I setup a homesever and use immich as my backup solution.

I'll take this advice when I have the money 😀

Ideally audio files stored under /sdcard/Ringtones and /sdcard/Notifications would appear on the respective place in Android devices. I don't know how it is done in your device.

I'm using hyperOS on my poco f6, where I can't see the above screens anywhere. Try settings> Sound and touch and pick your ringtone and notification tone from there instead of themes app.

I hope your gf device code name is sweet. There are latest versions available as you can find here. https://xmfirmwareupdater.com/miui/sweet/

If you want the latest version of Android with recent security patch, try lineage os or crdroid. But you have to unlock the bootloader and spend little time tinkering on it. You can find a lot of YouTube videos with step by step instructions. I have a device that runs on crdroid with Android 14.

I may keep 1m, that's way more than what I need to live this life and donate the rest to hospitals and education institutions.

Office 2007 was good with serial key activation.. it became cumbersome with new versions..

I started using Google sheets. I know the implications on storing/sharing personal data with Google.

But Google sheets is being used as my mini db to store all kind of data. I automated many stuff with Google app script with telegram bot.

I am 100% sure that now I can live without Excel.

It's kind of curse to live knowing what's going to happen to our dear ones, but on the other way I could spend some extra time who is not with me now.

Earning $10mil will not be my motive if I am going to live this life again..

work in a software company from India

bought an ev 2 wheeler

the company provided statistics about the distance travelled, efficiency, range, all in different driving modes

felt happy to know all these

company discontinued sending all the statistics, stopped web login by saying all details would be available on the phone app

3 months got over, but no new features available on the phone app

try to snoop what's happening on their app

found the api key and url from the app log.

MF, they track 20+ parameters for each trip including the number of times the horn is pressed

why the horn count? What are they going to get by tracking it? 🤔

all the EVs are privacy nightmares.

We all make mistakes knowingly or unknowingly. But a few mistakes that I made in the past still haunt me. How do I overcome those?
