Full on Gen X. All we HAD was arcades. I mean.. the non-arcade versions of games like Pac-Man and Space Invaders was pretty janky.

Some of my fondest memories are spending Saturday afternoons at the arcade, back when $20 in quarters could last.

So many great games! First game I could ever finish was called Space Harrier. I figured out the pattern and could finish the game on a few quarters.

I admit I was sad when arcades started to shutter.

He should say F it and run as an independent.

There was literally nothing like Star Wars before Star Wars.

As someone who was alive in the 70's, there really was nothing like it. Not that was any good and not in the main stream.

I don't mean there wasn't science fiction or fantasy or whatever. I mean, it generally sucked and was low budget schlock.

Lucas took that shit so seriously he practically had a heart attack making the first one. It shows, for audiences at the time, it was a game changer.

It was a blockbuster where people were waiting in line for DAYS to see it.

You look at it now and I can see how it'd look mid. But, it pretty much launched science fiction/fantasy movies as a mainstream thing.

Because Disney completely murdered the post OT era. There's nowhere to go from where they left it and nobody is interested in seeing it.

So they just keep going back to the well in and around the OT.

I think the Acolyte is fine, but bland. It's on par with most of what they're doing in general. It's ok and it's silly to get mad about.

All in all, Disney has zero imagination and little understanding of what made the original SW special and different. That's fine, it is what it is.

I felt the last season was kind of crap.

Felt like they were just re-telling the same story/conflict. And I'm with you, the problem was always about hyper capitalist exploitation of powered people and how messed up that would be if it were real.

Now it's just "homelander bad".

They're going to run Hilary. Bet on it. Biden will drop out and Clinton will "step in".

For extra bonus, she'll choose someone like Kerry just to sweeten the deal. It will be peak Democratic party insanity.

I believe it!

I went to Catholic school as a kid. The priests were Hungarian and stridently anti-communist.

I feel like such a chud. Like every one else at the time, we celebrated unification and the Berlin wall coming down.

Looking back, I realize we were fed a constant stream of anti-communist propaganda. It was everywhere. TV, movies, video games, comics, news, etc.

If I’d known an inkling of the truth, I would have thought much differently.

I have never once wanted to get Tik Tok.

This made me seriously consider downloading it.
