We should tie a mandatory government retirement age to Medicare or social security eligibility so there's some pressure to keep it below 80.

There will be terrorist drone attacks in the US or Europe, but I highly doubt they will be at a 9/11 scale. The destructive power of a drone is nowhere near the power of a fueled jet, you can get close with a swarm, but that adds several new problems.

  • getting high yield explosives is pretty hard. 9/11 stole the bombs on the day, which is much harder to respond to. You could try using drones to take out aircraft on takeoff, but that's already controlled and monitored airspace.
  • getting enough drones to be a large attack isn't trivial even with readily available parts in small numbers. There's already systems in place to monitor large orders of potentially dangerous materials like fertilizer or smoke detectors.
  • coordinating hundreds of thousands of drones is actually pretty hard to do in a clandestine way. Sanctioned drone shows have problems occasionally while not having to hide and having to avoid countermeasures.
  • Drone countermeasures already exist and are deployed for large events like the Superbowl. Target selection to be big enough but still insecure is also difficult. Security is more of a priority for iconic places and not all of it is theater.

It's a pile of child porn to get to the preteen porn

I've seen that as a bit by a comedian before as well.

After having kids I totally understand how it can happen by mistake.

Spite coding is almost the original coding.

As I've become more casual I just stick to dubbed anime titles. It's more likely to be something decent and avoids some of the more egregious problematic tropes of the genre.

Part of that is a legal issue. People over 40 are a protected class, you can't discriminate against old people for being old. Young people can get fucked though.

I wouldn't want to target actual criminals that have reasons and means to fight back.

There's a lot of people that think 95% of what they paid is a good discount.

If you actually want to sell something mark it at 50% of retail, because that's the area most things are worth.

At the time the cabinet and vp, oversight committees, possibly the AG or IG if they weren't complicit in a cover up. Also it's about the president, being deep throat 2 would be acceptable.

Confidentiality is not absolute for medical professionals, they can and have been forced to testify. It's not as absolute as it is with lawyers or clergy, which also have some limits.

Pre YouTube, but still a great classic.

Something needs to be done after the garbage first round of playoffs.

  • No automatic bye for conference champions seems good.

This article stops short of saying the Big12 and ACC should only get one team in, but I'd support that until proven they aren't week conferences.

Strength of schedule needs to be a bigger factor, an 11-1 Indiana never deserved a spot. My ideal default would be 6 SEC, 3 Big10, and the other automatic qualifiers.

Now is a great time for if I were there hypotheticals, so here's mine.

Once it was decided to run Harris and push Biden out, they should have gone all the way and used the 25th amendment to let Harris become president. This would have effectively separated her from Biden while still allowing her to take credit for the good stuff. She could have instructed the DOJ to start investigating price gouging now, and campaigned on needing to win to keep it up.

The 100ish days wouldn't have been enough for wholesale replacement, but it could have created a concrete message of this is where I want to go. A campaign focused on already delivering is a positive message people could get behind as well.

With Tyrek Hill being detained less than 4 months after the arrest of Scottie Scheffler, have the police actually angered enough people with money and power that there could be actual consequences?

Not a huge surprise.

Harbaugh is looking at a 4 game suspension for lying to NCAA investigation. Ultimately meaningless because the first 4 games aren't against anyone competitive. This could be an excuse to not extend his contract that expires after this season.

What is everyone's predictions for the coming season? The hype is as an all time high for the Lions, is anyone buying it?

Vegas has the Lions at 9.5 wins, I think it's totally possible that they can hit the over. I'm buying the hype and think that this year it's the Lions division to lose. Superbowl is probably not happening, but 1-2 playoff wins could happen.
