Some "extreme left" proposals from the article:
- Unpaid sick leave
- Reductions in unemployment benefits
- Restrictions on the right to strike
Looks like bog-standard conservative politics to me, why do you feel the need to defend them?
Unfortunately for the post scarcity information society, the capitalists are in fact moving on — to fascism.
It goes even further back: Joseph Fourier wrote about the mechanism for global warming in the 1820s although he didn't make the connection with CO2. We've effectively had 200 years to deal with this shit.
Do people want big trucks or have they been manipulated through clever marketing to want big trucks because they're more profitable for the manufacturers (marketing included)?
