There are a multitude of reasons I personally wouldn't buy a Xiaomi, most notable of which is data security concerns. But the SOC performance isn't one of them.

I wonder if you got hit with a little corporate astroturfing? I doubt there are many corps on Lemmy yet but if your post is findable by a search engine it's only a matter of time before they arrive, if they haven't already.

Ah yes, now if only anyone actually wished to play the game. At all, let alone on Deck.

It's a meme account. JC Denton is a character from Deus Ex, most of their comments are quotes from the character.

That's exactly what I love about them, but I was also the weird kid that liked to chew on zippers and ball bearings and I liked to lick 9v batteries. I guess I just love the taste of metal.

This is the same guy who is in an interracial marriage and voted to illegalize interracial marriage. He literally can't be trusted with anything.

It does have to be a full moon to be effective. Can't half-ass it.

Doesn't matter, had sex, still counts

This is almost certainly the correct answer. If it's a photoelectric-type detector it'll be set off by any interruption of the beam. This can be smoke, steam/vapor, dust, etc.

You can replace them with ionization type smoke alarms (or "dual type" alarms) and this will make it less sensitive to non-smoke interference.

Firefox + uBlock Origin served me about 4 hours of video last night without an ad in sight.

They very well might just bill your next of kin about it. Or it will be taken out of estate value first.

If you're broke, die, and have no immediate family? You get out scot free.

Considering I've never once been served an ad from either of them that I actually felt any reason whatsoever to click on.... No, I don't really think they are.

Either that or I'm the most unmarketable human being on the planet, which is plausible, but doubtful.
