No, I wasn't suggesting that, but mods can delete posts. I was thinking that maybe someone could have compromised a mod account and wiped all the posts, or been recently granted mod power and abused their position. Probably some people out there who don't much like that community.

It looks like something broke on their system. When I try to view the community directly on sopuli.xyz, I don't see any posts:

https://sopuli.xyz/c/ukraine

I see comments up to one hour ago.

EDIT: Note that there's also the "War in Ukraine" community at !war@group.lt, but that gets far less traffic.

EDIT2: I don't see obvious modlog activity removing posts.

EDIT3: Hmm. It's specific to that community. !steamdeck@sopuli.xyz is functional: https://sopuli.xyz/c/steamdeck

EDIT4: The list of mods on that community has not changed since this archive.org snapshot of the page on October 7, so I don't think that it's a case of someone getting mod authority and wiping everything and me just not understanding how to see it in the modlog. Or at least if so, that account is no longer listed as a mod.

EDIT5: Also posted on that instance's !main@sopuli.xyz community, which looks like it's the one for instance discussion; hopefully that may catch someone's eye.

Probably Final Fantasy Legend 2 or Zelda: Link's Awakening. I still have midi-format versions of those sitting around.

I wouldn't specifically recommend that someone go back and dig them up, though, if they haven't played them and aren't just wanting the nostalgia value.

For the Game Boy, I think that the technical limitations on the audio hardware really keep it from being competitive with larger systems, though. I mean, it's impressive what they managed to do with the hardware in that era, but the SNES was a lot more capable.

Drop the car off at the shop for maintenance, same as if Harris wins.

I suspect that a mass-produced shell with a time fuze can be made more-cheaply than a drone.

I also kinda suspect that using a pulse laser on a drone runs the risk of eye damage to anyone nearby and looking at the thing, from reflected light.

I mean, just because they're talking about PC games doesn't mean that they won't talk about PS5 games unless they have something specifically excluding PS5.

EDIT: Oh, wait. I'd been ignoring all this, didn't realize that there was some sort of cannibalism aspect to this, misinterpreted you. Huh.

Basically, what Mr Spec Ops is attempting to describe is an isekai harem anime show, where the twist is its a gay bear and a bunch of femboy twinks.

The Threadiverse definitely needs an analog to Reddit's /r/BrandNewSentence.

EDIT: Heh. Apparently the social media post that started the NCD response went on there 25 minutes ago.

Yeah, it kind of is throwing out a softball for that, I reckon.

At least four car companies’ data collection and sharing practices are under investigation by the Texas attorney general’s office for potentially violating state law on deceptive trade practices, according to documents obtained by Recorded Future News.

Kia, General Motors, Subaru and Mitsubishi received “civil investigative demand” letters from the office's consumer protection division in late April.

It’s the first known request for documents from connected car companies by a state investigative body as part of an enforcement review, experts say.

The California Privacy Protection Agency announced it would probe the data collection and sharing practices of connected-car companies and technologies in July, but the status of that inquiry is unknown.

There are few things more heartwarming than videos of children with deafness gaining the ability to hear, showing them happily turning their heads at the sound of their parents' voices and joyfully bobbing to newly discovered music. Thanks to recent advances in gene therapy, more kids are getting those sweet and triumphant moments—with no hearing aids or cochlear implants needed.

A survey of more than 2.4 million people finds that being online can have a positive effect on welfare.

Streaming services like Netflix and Peacock have already found multiple ways to aggravate paying subscribers this week.

The streaming industry has been heating up. As media giants rush to establish a successful video streaming business, they often make platform changes that test subscribers' patience and the value of streaming.

Below is a look at the most exasperating news from streaming services from this week. The scale of this article demonstrates how fast and frequently disappointing streaming news arises. Coincidentally, as we wrote this article, another price hike was announced.

A controversial bill that would require all new cars to be fitted with AM radios looks set to become a law in the near future. Yesterday, Senator Edward Markey (D-Mass) revealed that the "AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act" now has the support of 60 US Senators, as well as 246 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives, making its passage an almost sure thing. Should that happen, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration would be required to ensure that all new cars sold in the US had AM radios at no extra cost.

A mysterious Roman object unearthed in an amateur dig has baffled experts as it goes on display in Britain for the first time.

The 12-sided object was discovered in Norton Disney, near Lincoln, in 2023, and will go on display at Lincoln Museum as part of the city’s Festival of History.

Richard Parker, secretary of the Norton Disney History and Archaeology Group, said it was a “privilege to have handled” the dodecahedron, but was still at a loss over what it was.
