They should make the versions UUIDs instead of integers so that we don't make assumptions about their ordinal relationships.

It talks extensively about On Bullshit, lol.

"Completely new"

Okay, then don't train it on anything at all and let's see how it turns out.

That art style is called "Alegria" or "Corporate Memphis" and it always makes me feel kind of nauseated, even without the cannibalism.

I'm planning to open a new chequing account in the near future, and I'm contemplating bailing on RBC. I've been with them for a very long time, and one possible outcome is that I'll just open a new RBC account and be done with it. That'd be... fine.

But for a variety of reasons (including my satisfaction with RBC trending steadily downward), I'm thinking about opening this new account elsewhere. I don't have a ton of hard requirements, and I'm not really sure what to look for in a bank, but the following would be nice:

  • Good online banking experience, particularly desktop (RBC is shockingly bad at this)
  • Good credit card; easy to make payments from the new account
  • Minimal fees
  • Easy e-transfers
  • Real security (another thing RBC is terrible at)
  • Neat rewards would be cool
  • Low-fee, low-friction investing would also be cool-- I don't really do much investing, but I'd like to be able to

Any suggestions would be great, including anti-suggestions if you happen to know of a bank that I should avoid.

If those Joe Rogan fans could read, they would be very upset right now!

EDIT: Oh you know what? I just fact-checked myself and apparently that podcast is no longer Spotify-exclusive as of very recently. I hope you enjoyed the joke anyway.

I think that's the difference: Pirate Bay and Silkroad knew they were inherently anti-establishment, but it seems to me that Parler and Gab think of themselves as "alternative establishment" or something.

Pirate Bay was never trying to compete with Netflix or Steam-- it's conceptually very different. But Parler very much wants (wanted?) to just be Twitter but with right-wing politics.

Sounds reasonably conscientious and professional to me... Just informal. Best combination IMO: Keep me informed, ask me for decisions when necessary, mitigate terror to my dog, talk and behave like a human, make me feel like you know your way around this and have it under control. Perfect service, no notes.

Just in case anyone needs to hear it: You can absolutely start things in your 30's and still feel fulfilled by them, even if there's some 16 year old who is better at them. Do them for you, and don't compare yourself to others.

(Also maybe don't make combat sports your thing if you're prone to that)

For anyone who can't tell the difference: The OLED is the one that's next to the other one.

When the "Subscribe" button is gray and the "Use for free" button is blue, you know something's up 🤔

In astrology, a bunch of trivia about your life factor into your reading... So like basic newspaper horoscopes are just like "which range of dates does your birthday fall into? Oh okay you're a Pisces then, so go read the horoscope for all Pisces..." But if you go to a "real" astrologer for a "real" reading, they wanna know other stuff, including what time you were born, and that'll help personalize the reading.

Mom is making the assumption that the reason for the question is to use her response as input to an astrology reading. Instead of sharing the time of birth, she warns the subject to stay away from "her," the astrologer, who are stereotypically female.

If they just showed the password rules on the login page, this would happen 80% less often to me.

For reference (as per Wikipedia):

Any organization that designs a system (defined broadly) will produce a design whose structure is a copy of the organization's communication structure.

Imagine interpreting that as advice on how you should try to design things, lol.

Tbf, I think most of the post is just typical LinkedIn fluff, but I didn't want to take the poor fellow out of context.
