i suspect what they're calling e-paper is something like the Sharp memory LCDs that Pebble smartwatches used, not the E-Ink that Kindles have. still very battery efficient; most of the power consumption from LCDs is in the backlight, not the actual display layer

i stopped using TikTok because I was spending too much time on it, also the format encourages broad generalization and flashy statements to keep attention, which annoys me even from people I agree with (this is not a moral judgement just a personal grievance). politically the users are much better than any other mainstream social media.
i've tried getting back on there to keep up with events in Palestine but that stuff doesn't show up as much anymore.
