If I don't own the product after purchase, the button shouldn't say "buy/purchase" it should say "rent".

Still doesn't matter if something is "heavily taxed" because regardless of how much tax, you'll never own more in taxes than you made. So if you got a 10,000 bonus and it was heavily taxed at 60 percent, you don't somehow have to pay like 15,000 in taxes or something on it. You pay 60% of 10,000, leaving you with 4,000 left over. This is typically done before you even see the money, if not ensure that you keep funds aside to pay for the tax.

Also looking briefly at Japan, it appears that their income tax is a bracket based system similar to the US. So again, even if you go up a bracket, you'll never own more taxes than you make. Honestly, people need to stop thinking in brackets when it comes to taxes, all you need to worry about is your "effective tax rate." That's it, you don't need to worry that your income pushed you into a 29% tax bracket or whatever. All that matters is your effective tax rate is 24.2% or whatever. You'll never own more money because you "moved" into a higher bracket, because that's not how that works.

Preferably don't. But if you had to, perhaps a 3d version using unreal but with the style of the box art.

Could you imagine traveling without time zones? It would be actual hell.

Normally you wake up at 1300, but then you travel to japan, you don't know when they wake up. So maybe you ask the hotel staff or maybe people will start putting signs up "Japan wakes up at 0300". I mean it's cool you don't need to change your watch or wait for your phone time to update when the plane lands, but how do you know when lunch is? When do you go to sleep? If a meeting you're having is at 1000, is that way late in the day meeting? Or is that a super early meeting and maybe you should get to bed early the night before. You would have no clue unless you do it on the regular.

Now, you could just download an app that tells you what time it is where you're at currently relative to what you normally use (so in Japan while they think it's 0300, your phone says 1300) so this would make these way easier for you since all the times are just normal. Every time you move around you just tell the app where you're at and it adjusts the time is displays annnndddd......oh wait I just re-invited time zones.

Sure, but the glass core is only 8–9 µm wide, it's a minuscule amount of glass compared to copper cables so it's not really worth it to melt it down.

I think the main issue with initial Led bulbs was their color was wrong. Incandescent bulbs emit light at 2700K, a nice warm white. Early LEDs emitted light at more like 5000K or there abouts, which is a really white light. Same with CFLs. Elderly people didn't like that at all. Honestly it wasn't just them, lots of people hated them for their too white of light.

Today you can get LEDs that are 2700K and/or are adjustable to what ever color you want.

The US doesn't give you a nice little letter, but you can go to https://usafacts.org/visualizations/the-big-picture/ to see something similar.

Is it not possible to see Kbin posts while browsing on Lemmy? I noticed this when I found the Twice community, which is a Kbin magazine. I only see my posts when on Lemmy, but when I go to kbin.social, I see mine plus all of their posts.

Honestly I expect, just like in the early days of personal computing, that Gen Z and beyond will suffer from PC illiteracy. The main issue is that phones and tablets are being used almost exclusively during school and on personal time, so they have no idea what Windows nor even Mac looks and feels like. What happens with Zoomer gets an office job for the first time? They have to figure out how to use Windows and Office for the first time. It's crazy to think that your 70 yr old Grandma and your 17 yr old Nephew could potentially be on the same level of knowledge of how to use Windows, Office, etc...
