I've never liked Hercules, but man, this guy is ruining Andromeda for me.
Hercules was kinda fun, but there's a reason ... well, several reasons, Xena outshined it spectacularly, both in ratings at the time and in cultural impact years and decades later.
and Lucy Lawless outshines him as a person even today, like the sun outshines a broken flashlight.
Yeah, Xena was the best thing about Hercules by far.
I mean, he also ruined Andromeda for me, during the run of Andromeda.
If you notice a sudden shift after season 2, that's because Kevin got the rights and changed the show to be more episodic, and more about his character. It's why the actors of the other main crew start to drop off.
The show also became mainly about his love interests, who were always women young enough to be his daughter. It was creepy.
Fun fact: The guy who played Daniel Jackson on SG1 is married to the women who played Andromeda on Andromeda, but he a kid with the woman who played Sha're in the first season of SG1.
