There are 10 people in the entire galaxy and they ALL know each other

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 34 points 2 months ago (2 children)

The galaxy keeps bending around over and over again toward Tatooine. It is the planet that is furthest from the bright center of the universe but that doesn't stop it from being sand Rome. the-more-you-know

[–] fox@hexbear.net 29 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The only thing that makes Tatooine special is that it was originally the complete ass end of nowhere, but the freeze-gamer hoot and holler when media shows them a thing they've already seen

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 24 points 2 months ago (2 children)

That's one of the most offputting parts of Star Wars in general: it's bent into the gravity well of its fandom so much that the ass-end of space is also where more of its events seem to happen compared to other planets.

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Does the Star Wars Fandom^TM^ discuss anything other than the latest conspiracy about evil witch Kathleen Kennedy building a time machine to go back in time and kill George Lucas?

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There's still eternal "who would win in a fight" calipers-laden midi-chlorian-fixated dick-waving contests between the fandoms of numerous glowbat-wavers.

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I am so tired

Also thank god you’re back, you don’t know just how much treatposting went unchecked in your absence

[–] gueybana@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It’s got decades and decades of mythos built by countless artists and writers but the studios who run it, and George Lucas himself apparently, are so money hungry they reduse to take risks

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago

That planet was meant all along to be an unremarkable sort of boring place to grow up on purpose with weird local problems but otherwise nothing that screamed SPACE ADVENTURE except the desire to leave it. susie-baffled

[–] REEEEvolution@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The ark of history is long, but it bends towards Tatooine.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

Anakin's irritation at how coarse it is intensifies

Rey burying her postmortem-adopted family's lightsabers in the place that they both strongly disliked and had traumatic experiences in intensifies

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 21 points 2 months ago

And 4 of them are clone soldiers with a dark past they're trying to make amends for.

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago (3 children)

This one has a pretty reasonable connection.

Zeb is close with Hera, Hera’s close with Ahsoka, Ahsoka knows Grogu+Mando bc Jedi shit.

Oh and Mando knows Bo Katan who knows Ahsoka + Hera + Zeb + Sabine who’s a mandalorian.

This one time, unless they randomly happen upon each other instead of deliberately meeting, this isn’t a case of small galaxy, it’s just a case of “These are shows about this connected group of people”

[–] Krem@hexbear.net 36 points 2 months ago (4 children)

It makes sense. Zeb knows Bombo. Bombo visited Uyun Poot's Saloon in Legends: Star War X Wing Borb Season 3 Episode 12. (Pause at the 23 minute 11 seconds mark). Guess Who else visited that Saloon? None other than Hupple Swett (in the tie-in novel Admiral Poot and the Gyngul Assault). Yes, THAT Hupple Swett. Remember in Blue Elephant: The Jizz Guy: A Star Wars Story on Disney+, where Sorlac goes to the Qung Moon Station? Who does she fight at the end? Exactly, Ooogon Fetid (the disciple of Hupple Swett in case you're a cueless dweeb). And who had a skippable laser sword fight with Ooogon Fetid in the PS4 game Masters of Thbu Vobb? Dinkle Heinous.

So it makes perfect sense that Zeb shows up in the Bambolorian and Donk Movie

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 14 points 2 months ago

Dinkle Heinous

if it weren't for this name i legitimately wouldn't have been able to tell if this was a bit or not

Haha characters in fantasy series have weird names

saruman-orb second-breakfast warf-wtf quark

I tried to put a bunch of emojis of characters with weird names but the emoji picker isn’t loading right :(

[–] frankfurt_schoolgirl@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Pippin is a good and respectable name obama-sad

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Pippin’s a nickname; His name is Peregrin Took

[–] frankfurt_schoolgirl@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago

Ok true, but that's a good name. Maybe people aren't named Peregrin but they should be.

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, this is more "running into your friend's friends" kinda shit

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

And not even like, running into your friend’s friend in a random city far away, it’s running into your friend’s friend at a party you were both invited to

“This character already has important contacts in common with the other characters and it makes sense he would show up”

[–] Crozekiel@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 months ago

It would maybe make sense if he showed up in ashoka... But yea the mandalorian is basically on a pilgrimage to see every character in star wars that could potentially still be alive.
