Yeah I keep seeing stories about how doomed AI companies are. Apparently if they don’t create AGI then it was all for nothing and it’s trash.

I think the main issue isn't directly that, but that they payed $600 billion for things like NVidia hardware, electricity, experts, ... And now they need to generate an absurd pile of money. That's why they might be doomed, because their product now has to fulfill ludicrous expectations. Or the bubble is going to burst.
