Why not? I seen way more baseless cults of personality, for example pope John Paul 2 was so bland that even a wet fart would be immense progress, and he still had massive cult.
I knew someone with a lifesize cardboard cut out of him in their
gamer cave way back in the day and he was a constant source of humor at lan parties.
