It is an interesting idea. I like the idea of (finally) going on the offensive, but this doesn't really attack any GOP ideas or candidates.
I do love the idea of embracing the "let's go brandon" slogan. I just saw some idiots with that bumper sticker the other day. I would love to see Dems take over that slogan and make it seem like all the "let's go brandon" merchandise is actually on the side of Biden. Unfortunately I think only a small group of people (those who follow memes) really understand what the heck dark brandon even is. But at least the Dems are trying something different and trying to get ahead of certain things, rather than the usual Democrat response which is nothing.
It's an attempt at doing exactly what Republicans do. They steal a word or phrase and change it to mean something horrible. Democrats really need.to.start playing stupid games too, unfortunately, because the country is losing hard right now.
110% agree.
We don't need to have everyone stoop to their level, but goddamn it there should be more attacks like Republicans pull. Fight fire with fire.
I unironically shout "Let's go, Brandon! Let's fucking go!" whenever I encounter it in the wild. Take it back!
I saw a guy at an Incubus concert in liberal AF Massachusetts wearing a “Lets go Brandon” shirt last year, and I’m still not sure if he was talking about Biden or Brandon Boyd.
How is backing abortion rights not a counter point to the GOP trying to ban them?
Who is saying that it is?
You said
But it does. It directly counters their anti-abortion stance.
He's stating that he supports abortion rights. That's not an actual attack on what Republicans believe.
Yeah it is?
Biden supports abortion rights. GOP supports banning (removing) abortion rights.
These are opposites.
But he's not attacking their stance. He's not saying to them that they should change their minds because of this, this and that reason. He is simply stating that he (Biden) supports abortion rights and that's probably aimed at the tiny percent of Fox News watchers that might actually support rights - specifically Republican women, I would guess. There are some (a small number, but still some) Republicans who see that this latest push by their own party against abortion is a bridge too far.
