Saw this posted on some .world or .lu instance. According to those folks this is what happens when people don’t show up to vote for a candidate who’s not sufficiently left enough, despite voters agreeing with 90% of the candidates policies. The app I use crashed before I could tell the commenter how they single-handedly saved me from the authoritarian left. I mean how could you possibly refute that analysis? I don’t really think you can. Maybe if there was a basic as hell meme that illustrated lesser evilism using wojaks and rage faces to spoon feed this concept it to me then I could be convinced that voting in bourgeois elections is a nearly meaningless activity thanks to the both parties being owned by capital, one of which consistently capitulates to the other, thus moving the entire corporate political spectrum further to the right with every election despite who people vote for. But since I’ve never seen a meme like that I’ll just have to wait 4 years to vote for Gavin Newsom’s presidential ticket.

Electoralism discussionOh, got it, so the reason the Democratic Party is moving farther to the right is that the left doesn't like the Democratic Party moving farther to the right, so all we need to do is vote hard enough to move the Democrats left?

not-listening It would be such a ridiculous idea to actually run a candidate that even pretends to care about what their voters want, don't you think?

These nonvoters are so entitled. They want representation in their government. Sorry sweetie, that’s not how democracy™️ works.
