Yeah, it sucks. I was interested in getting back to playing the actual card game but this stuff puts me well off.

Same! It's actually the game that got my GBC confiscated because I was playing it too much lol. My original Pokémon Blue is lost to time, sadly, but I've still got Pokémon TCG with my 100+ hours save. I actually dumped it recently so it's preserved even if and when the battery dies
To be fair there's plenty of stuff like this that can deal with a lot of junk
I was playing the Charizard deck online and came up against this, I had to fuck around with trainer cards to get my one Charmeleon to deal with it lol
Aegislash from paradox rift is a good option too if you're building a steel deck can buddy-buddy for honedge and rare candy it
