Soviet Furs is a furry community who harbor an interest in Soviet era Russia and East Germany for historical, militaristic, strategic, living history, reenactment, culture, language, artistic or fetish reasons. Their first solid presence was on a LiveJournal community in July of 2005, though it was created as early as June by Ricadonna and Renarden.

The Soviet Furs do not promote or glorify Communism in any way, nor do they support the Soviet Union. It is also not a "rival group" of the Nazi Furs; in fact, they are officially affiliated. The group is simply for those with interest in the former Soviet Union and East Germany for followed reasons stated above.

Look, I kind of get it. If you're a nazi fur who wants a dom, who's the ultimate power mommy to the Nazis? Soviet furs paddled them hard. My wife and I do a similar thing in bed where I play an 14th century Ottoman and she's a Bulgarian.
