Everyone is fooled by his facade until he lies about something they are familiar with.

That's a good one. Says something that I was unable to put to words.

As a software engineer, it still blows my mind that any software people take him seriously at all after the way he handled Twitter. He literally asked programmers to print out the code they'd written in the last 6 months so he could fire whoever wrote the fewest lines.

Dude has no fucking clue how any of it works.

I have never seen any evidence that he wrote any code at all. I am interested in being proven wrong. I'd want to see a video or picture of him actually typing something. If not that, then at least some commits with his name on it.

He makes some pretty revealing statements about tech, sometimes.

"I personally wrote the first national maps, directions, yellow pages & white pages on the Internet in the summer of 1995 in C with a little C++.

Didn't use a "web server" to save CPU cycles (just read port 8080 directly). Couldn't afford a Cisco T1 router, so wrote an emulator based on a white paper."

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

America being terminally car-brained didn't help him when he unveiled the cybertruck and it looked like shit and then video emerged of it performing like shit. Lots of comments like "lol my 23 year old Honda sedan could go up that incline."

It's easier to be the Prince of Le Science when people aren't in a rocket for an hour long commute every day. Cars? Everybody is in a car. Make a shitty car? Everyone can see it fail and understand the how and the why.
