"Adjudicated Rapist".
https://newrepublic.com/post/174448/judge-e-jean-carroll-case-yes-donald-trump-rapist
“The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was ‘raped’ within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape,’ indeed, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that [rape, as ‘commonly’ understood].”
Also as federal law defines rape.
I refuse to qualify the term rape. Trump raped Carroll - there are no conditions or clarifications needed.
Adjudicated rapist is not the same as convicted rapist. That's the real issue. Trump was never charged with rape.
I don't disagree and I'd concede the point if I was talking to a lawyer or other legal expert that was having a discussion with me in good faith.
These fucks exploit the shit out of good faith and technicalities so fuck it.
You're[1] wrong, it was rape.
At least you admit to not acting in good faith
I think that being transparent in my reasoning is acting in good faith to this community. But, I've worked in professional environments for like twenty years now... I know that being fully honest isn't always a good policy. Communication between humans is complex and I'm morally comfortable with my decisions of when I chose to use linguistic tricks to reinforce or erode an argument.
You're perfectly fair to judge me for not being full transparent all the time (though I do think that's quite naïve) and you're also fair to judge me about when I chose to use these tricks to push a viewpoint. That's well within your rights.
Be very careful. Remember, ABC and George Stephonopalous (or however you spell his name) just had to cough up $15 million and apologize to Trump for repeating this.
I wish I was joking.
They didn't have to. They chose to roll over like fucking cowards.
They settled a case that wasn’t by any means open and shut. And in the context of that case Stephenpolous was talking about the legal case Trump was involved in, which specifically was not rape according to the jury but sexual assault.
In this case, aoc isn’t referring to a case but in general that Trump is a rapist so she is standing on much firmer ground since she isn’t talking about specific facts, Trump is a public figure, and I doubt anyone could say that aoc is lying with malice.
She didn't say 'convicted' which makes her case way easier, just point to the judge and shrug
I heard just being a whiny little bitch works really great as a defense. All you have to do is somehow quadruple your hearings and whine, and they let you go, in fact, you may even be president one day if you whine enough.
Nah. Donald Trump is a rapist who raped E. Jean Carroll, among others.
I feel that was more of an offering.
