Irish Catholics not guilty of SA you say?

That's mostly the priests, who come and go from all over. Ireland actually probably has a lower percentage of assaults from priests because until homosexuality was more accepted in society at large that was a place where a lot of gay men went to be relatively safe.

And the Scots have been Britains willing dogs for most of the century

Considering how many Scots seemed ready to go independent recently, I think they may disagree. I think Scotland doesn't have a huge economy on its own either so historically mercenary work was what kept them relatively safe from the English, but I don't think they're happy about that state of affairs.

And the protestants are just English, so they're guilty too

Which is why I don't count them among the Irish

Not that I have an axe to grind here, just had this pop up on my feed and thought it was funny... CW: The Telegraph

'Alan Cochrane - Scots built the Empire – let’s be proud of it

Many of my compatriots seem to believe that they are victims of colonialism – our schools must be failing' https://archive.is/LIRHq

"A new survey has convinced me of two things. The first is that I’m intensely proud to be an imperialist; no, not the kind who is said to be forever on the lookout for new lands to invade and subjugate. Instead I’m happy to be British and Scottish and proud to have been part of that Empire on which the sun never set and which was a force for good in the world."
