With Trump taking over, China has won. Allies are already abandoning the US. The US can no longer plan for any kind of future, because planning is antithetical to laissez-faire capitalism.
What I see happening in the US is balkinisation and civil war. At the very least, worst civil unrest then it has ever seen. Place is going to be a warzone.
Turning your country into a capitalist autarky is IMO the definition of fascism. Autarkies aren't possible even under communism because no country has all the resources to satisfy every want and need. But with fascists, they will either steal from other countries, expand their borders, or both. We saw this with Italy, Germany, and Japan in particular whose leaders promised their citizens total autonomy under an ethno-state.
I haven't read Lenin, so maybe he's already talked about this in several of his writings. I think "capitalist nation tries to become entirely self-sufficient," though, is what every fascist government has in common that clearly defines fascism. The United States will choose barbarism and the bullet over communism and the ballot to try correcting its contradictions.

God, I want to move to China. I know it's not as utopian as we sometimes make it out to be and I'm sure there are alot of problems, not mention problems with being a foreigner. But fuck, everything around here is collapsing and I don't even have an idea of how much worse it will get.
