I appreciate that it's just an AR-15 with a tube hiding the barrel. It still has a mag lol

Nope, it uses blanks to launch large projectiles like cans. There is no barrel. I don't know how or if they prevent real rounds from chambering but there is no barrel in the traditional sense. It attaches to a standard AR lower
