Warning: Grapefruit can interact with drugs, such as decreasing the effectiveness of estradiol, making Oxycodone last longer, increasing blood levels when on Viagra, and much more.
Grapefruit inhibits multiple enzymes in the small intestine, most notably CYP3A4. CYP3A4 is involved in the breaking down of a lot of drugs, so when it's inhibited Oxycodone becomes inactive slower, and estradiol won't break down all the way into estrogen. Drugs that are affected by grapefruit will often have warnings on their packaging
Personally, I like putting just a little bit of salt on my grapefruit, to counteract the bitter flavor. Dumping sugar on it doesn't help. Grapefruits are about half as sour as lemons, since they have half the citric acid content.
Grapefruits were accidentally created as a cross between the sweet orange and the pomelo, in Barbados. Those fruits originate from Asia, but were brought to the Caribbean in the 17th century. Since it's parent fruits are native to Asia, it grows well in Asia too.
and
(China and Vietnam) are the two largest producers of Grapefruits, producing collectively 6.3 million tons out of the 9.8 million tons of worldwide production.
The painting was made by Robert Papp, who has a website here: https://robertpapp.com/. I don't really know anything about the guy.
The lemon things with all of the recipes was really cool, but to be honest I just like grapefruit raw, cut in half and ate with a spoon.

looks like my pharmacy forgot to inform me after suddenly switching me from testosterone cypionate to enanthate. the pharmacist just called and urged me to lower my dose from 0.50ml to 0.25ml because enanthate has a higher concentration which means i was taking a double dose of my usual on cypionate for the past few weeks. only thing is that i've been feeling really great on the higher dose??? idk i'm kinda wrestling if i should listen or not cause i've just been feeling way less like shit all the time and more normal. i've also seen other trans mascs talk about taking 100mg a week so maybe that's just a better dose for me??? idk
maybbbee? have u gotten bloodwork to check ur levels?
definitely planning to get them checked cause this really makes me wonder if my levels were actually too low
Make sure to do bloodwork when at trough and also wait an adequate amount of time for E levels to stabilize after changing dose before doing bloodwork (I think 1 month is a minimum, but I don't know if that depends on administration method). Also stop taking vitamin supplements (I think ones containing biotin are the most problematic ones) 3 days prior to the test.
It is a known problem that docs will often prescribe the minimum dose to get a trans person to leave their office, rather than the minimum dose to create hormone levels in the mid-range of cis men/women.
nodsnods good luck
Doubling your dose is not something you should do blindly on your own. Definitely discuss this with your doctor first (if you have this option).
i will probably try and talk to him but i've been sort of avoidant since last time we had an appointment he started suggesting i stop hrt entirely out of nowhere like
yikes
