I voted PSL because I would have to kill myself if I voted for genocide. I already feel like I deserve to die for my complicity and passivity just by being a law abiding/ taxpaying USAmerican, because that too supports the genocide, to add to that by additionally voting for a genocide because it might be better for me? I wouldn't survive that. I cast the only ballot I could without just casting a 9mm ballot in my fucking skull on election day. I should throw my body into the gears of the machine to clog it with my guts.
That's where I'm at.
So when I hear smug pieces of shit telling me I'm going to get what I deserve? Yeah, maybe I will. But it wasn't because I refused to vote for the lesser of two genocides. It's because I'm a worthless coward that won't do something that actually matters.
Do you feel anything at all?
Voting matters. Or at least it mattered, not sure if it will matter going forward. It was the single easiest and most effective thing you could have done to stop the fascists, especially if you live in a swing state.
You didn't fail because you were being a coward. You failed because you fell for Russian propaganda.
I want to address this separately.
It's the billionaire PayPal boys from South Africa that run this country, not fucking Russia. They've tricked you into blaming all of your problems on a gas station with guns, instead of recognizing the US oligarchy just achieved a coup.
The government is run by Musk, not Putin.
You failed too. Why won't you acknowledge that? Do you think you are absolved of all responsibilities because you voted? We are all culpable and complicit. We failed to move Biden, we failed to move Harris, we failed to stop Trump, and we continue to fail to stop Trump.
My one worthless vote in a red state wasn't going to stop the genocide or stop Trump, but there are other ways we can force the government to capitulate to our demands. What happened is we failed to use the other levers of power to stop him or to stop the genocide. You're part of this just as much as every other USAmerican.
We don't have to keep failing, but if you sit around and wait for the next election we're fucked.
"I won't do what I think is right, but I also I won't do what will reduce harm."
Yeah, that's about what I thought.
