Genuine questions, how can I kill a child with a fork?

No, I always use clones
Oh, well, there’s your problem. Start with that, and the “killing children with forks” thing will solve itself
Depending on the existing set, forks may be the only option though. And killing children with clones sounds much harder than with forks.
