I agree that calling Turkson "woke" is wildly inappropriate but he's only reactionary on contraception and LGBTQ (well, and all the other things that are basically not even up for discussion like abortion and women in general). But he definitely also presents an important and undervalued perspective on colonialism, the IMF, and the African Church. I would definitely much rather have him than a Pope who collaborates with the US in the name of anticommunism which would alienate the Global South, especially China. Tagle is still preferable, though.

I like Tagle. Turkson sounds like he sucks. We are past international regulatory bodies on behalf of the marginalized.

Progressive read of Vatican II is a great sign.
