Holy shit do they not want him to lose again.

They picked one of the safest ridings in the country so that there's no chance of that happening.
I assume he's being paid off by the Conservative party somehow. Otherwise he just spent a lot of time and money to get re-elected and is now unemployed.

Maxime Bernier is free, but he's also probably not even popular enough to split the vote.
