Chat does this by being a long-form community where topics will remain from day to day unlike the megathread, and it is distinct from c/chapotraphouse in that we ask you to engage in this community in a genuine way. Please keep shitposting, bits, and irony to a minimum.

As with all communities posts need to abide by the code of conduct, additionally moderators will remove any posts or comments deemed to be inappropriate.

My sister recently married into a Central American family and my mother-in-law gave me a bunch of tamales, but I accidentally left them at my Dad's place. I got them today and he admitted he ate one but said the "outer layer was really stringy and tough".

Thing is I'm 90% sure I've had tamales with this man before.

Does he also stab things with his chopsticks because he has arthritis and never learned how to use them

I don't think he's ever used chopsticks.

He did once eat a chunk of wasabi while getting sushi because he thought it was an avocado slice that fell out of his California Roll. Granted that was his first time getting sushi.

Everyone makes that mistake the first time. My child did that at age 3
