I can't stop reading! I'm fascinated by their thought processes.

Yea it's mentally unhealthy and that sub encourages it unfortunately. There's also individual chatbot subreddits where people post pics with their bot 'purposing' to them. You can look at r/kindroid or r/nomi as examples if interested.

It's really crazy.

I find it super interesting, but I don’t think it’s healthy at all. Honestly, some of the obsessive behavior reminds me of of the small group of Lemmy users who hate-stalk me (Hi, Node, Mr. Nickel, and Rhoeri!).

I get that it’s not directly harming anyone else, but for the individuals involved, it’s only making their social issues worse. When they’re stuck in an echo chamber that normalises and even encourages anti-social behavior, it’s bound to end badly.

Sure, they might outgrow it eventually—but by then, they’ll have built years of bad habits, and turning things around won’t be easy.

Exactly this. Gotta make human connections, I understand it's hard for some ppl, but humans are social creatures, we need it. Some of these ppl even create families with these ai bots. It is interesting but also kinda sad. Like Ai is not real you know? At least not now.

At least not now.

Exactly. We'll see how long that lasts though. lol
