I don't understand. What exactly is "shitty" here? Is there some social law forbidding to move relationships from one sister to another?
I am poly, so, I have no troubles with this. As long as they keep separate bedroom action, I don't see the issue
Lukewarm take: If they consent, they can do what they want, and share the bedroom if they would want that.
I would have an issue with it, personally, because related. But this would be my personal limit
Why separate bedroom action?
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like an AMA from your perspective as a poly individual would be very interesting, as long as folks were respectful.
I am open to such an AMA. Any place on lemmy where this would work?
This is the one I’m most familiar with:
!askmeanything@lemmy.ca
No, it is a very unhealthy community that lies to outsiders trying to make it sound like the paradise it will never be.
There are so many layers to always have to peel with poly groups.
They are almost always young and it never lasts.
Just do yourself a favour and avoid those thought virus'.
I have zero interest in becoming poly, exploring the idea, etc. it doesn’t appeal to me at all. But from a sociological standpoint, it’s very interesting to me personally to consider the dynamics of those relationships and to understand how they can vary from person to person, group to group.
I don’t have any experience with that community but I promise you that painting with a broad brush like you’re doing is wrong. You don’t know this individual. You’re assuming the worst without ever engaging in conversation with them personally. Unless you do know this person in which case I apologize.
It can be unhealthy. But, it truly depends on the people and their reasons for doing it. You can't just blanket apply statements to people.
a lot of monogamous relationships don't last either, buddy
This comment brought me to: yes, there should be an AMA!
Srsly, polyamorous relationships are a complex beast. And no, they are not better or worse then other relationship models. They are just different.
I mean, it's a situation that usually results in drama, but of everyone involved is cool with it, good for them
Is this a serious inquiry?
the implied cheating, the implied having kids you can't afford, not an obviously sound strategy for successful family building leading us to believe they were both accidents instead of planned family creation.
There is literally nothing in the image implying any of that. That’s something that you yourself are implying.
the implied cheating
the implied having kids you can’t afford:
they are in front of a trailer home, usually not a sign of economic success leading to having multiple kids you can afford to raise through your own income. Also, grammatical errors.
not an obviously sound strategy for successful family building leading us to believe they were both accidents instead of planned family creation
Do you see many families being created by someone impregnating more than one sister at a time in a family? Are those stable family units creating loving homes for those kids?
Trailer homes can be a very affordable path to homeownership. In rural areas it's not an uncommon choice to find a plot of land and plop a manufactured home on it. They don't have the same kind of staying power or value that a site-built structure would have, but it opens the possibility of getting some land and a home separately, especially if you buy an old one that needs some work and move it (and even moreso if you can do some or all of that work yourself)
Living in a trailer suggests more wealth than renting at least
That's interesting information. Now, out of the population of people living in trailers, what percentage are doing it in order to achieve the plan you laid out, and how many are doing it because of abject poverty?
And how many of those are out there impregnating sisters in succession before the first child hasn't even been born yet?
