This randomly popped into my head from my childhood, I searched for it online, and apparently it's not even that uncommon of a Christian take today.

Its idolatry to protect the world created by your God. You need to desecrate and accelerate extinction event faster than even cyanobacteria. I'm starting to wonder if these fundies really worship God or fenrir and jorgumandr

An idea I've seen floating around esoteric circles is "the Evangelical egregore". That evangelicals have created a god in their own image and proceeded to worship it.

now thats the term I was looking for and you damn well may be right about this

That evangelicals have created a god in their own image and proceeded to worship it.

Isn't that the case with literally every god from every religion?

Every god from every religion results from someone getting into an altered state of consciousness and coming out on the other side with a story that's compelling.

The shaping of God into man's (in practice, the ruling class's) likeness is a process that can happen with just about any religion.
