No, you don't vote for genocide-supporters period. I am appalled that is a controversial opinion.
Supporting a genocide is not "Lack of perfection". It's an abundance of evil
Failing to vote is just another way of supporting the republican party.
So not voting for Trump is a way of supporting the democratic party. Evens out.
It doesn't though, because you know for damn sure that every Republican will be voting for trump. If a substantial number of liberals don't vote for Biden, Trump wins.
That’s what they said when HRC won the popular vote, then the EC appointed the other clown.
If they do though, then Biden wins. And then they will have voted a genocide supporter into office.
Are you training for the Olympics? The mental gymnastics going on here.
The other guy supports Israel just like this guy.
The choice for genocide or no genocide is not part of this election.
Why participate in a rigged election?
Each election has a different expected low-turnout winner. In the race for U.S. President, low turnout nearly always benefits the Republicans. So one can expect forfeiting their vote to have the equivalent effect as voting for the low-turnout winner, i.e. Trump.
In a first-past-the-post voting system under duopoly control, voting third party is equivalent to forfeiting your vote.
But thats good news, you can force the democrats to run a different candidate by threatening to withhold your vote. And if they don't, you have to make good on your threat.
I suppose, so long as you're ok with "making good on your threat" meaning living the remainder of your life in a fascist dictatorship. That's a little far for me to go to prove a point to people I've never met that probably won't even get my message.
Edited
Also, what good would teaching the Democrats a lesson do when Trump winning likely means an end to democracy.
The slide into fascism isn't stopping under a genocide supporter. At best it slows down a bit.
so, you're admitting you're an accelerationist who wants things worse sooner?
big surprise.
The democrats won't change if you don't make them. They're the ones playing with fire.
staying home on election day won't make anyone do shit bud.
But protesting, threatening and making your voice heard would. Tell them you will withhold your vote. Make sure they understand that you don't vote for people that facilitate literal genocide. The apathy of the liberal block is confounding.
YES!!!! You get it! Now use that little bit of time if you're so inclined to try to prevent a slide into fascism in whatever way you do think might work.
How do you propose that time be used then?
That's up to each person. I'm personally working on forming a local mutual aid group.
Others can do what they can or are willing to. Others may not have hope that things could be truly made better, But to those people I'd say, don't you think it's worth it to expend just the little bit of effort it takes to vote? Is there nobody in your life that you'd spend an hour's worth of effort to potentially save their lives or at least put people in office that allow them to legally use the restroom?
Make no mistake, Republicans intentionally make life difficult for minorities , risky, scary, and
In the real world, people will vote in their own self interest. If you're queer, trans, have dark skin, are female, or are an ally to those groups, not voting for Biden is functionally equivalent to voting for the orange turd who will support and encourage crimes against them.
The harm reduction argument doesn't work if for the past 4 years individual rights have constantly deteriorated.
Frame it however you want but there's still merit in voting for the guy who doesn't actively want to destroy you.
Which is, in a large part, due to the fallout from actions taken by the Trump administration.
So best case scenario the guy is useless because he can't reduce harm.
Man, this is an immature take. The republican stacked judiciary has been the biggest issue for reducing harm in The US.
Do we like the support of the Israelis actions, absolutely not. But, when people tell you who they are, listen. Trump would be worse for everyone except his chosen few and the oligarchs. He has said as much.
If we had a more truly left option that would not put so many others at risk, I think we’d see a massive shift. That is our work during the next 4 years.
We just don’t have a good viable option this year…
Just like the last election, the one before that and so on
So if he doesn't have the magic ability to make everyone's lives better in an instant, he's useless?
The entire point of our system is that we don't have a singular person with absolute power. The reason the Trump administration was able to take the actions it did wasn't due to just Trump. It was also due to actions taken by congress and the judiciary.
This one office can only do so much, you need to vote in that election in addition to every other election you're able to. And it won't be a quick turnaround. Expecting magic to happen two seconds after stepping out of the voting booth once every four years is naive and getting petulant when it doesn't happen is dangerous.
Not an instant, 4 years. The slide into fascism hasn't stopped
Dude just admit that you're 14 and spouting your parents political views at this point. We were all there once.
