Don't use the free ones, you're looking at downloading malware at worst or just ineffective at best.
I use Mullvad, privacy focused which is cool. No emails, no nothing. Your account is a string of like 24 digits and you add time on their website. They even do envelopes of cash and crypto or bank transfers if you're into that. 5 euro/month.
I feel like Mullvad is a map of all countries that have 14+ eyes servers but yeah
Mullvad's willingness (and encouragement) to not even have a credit card payment on file earns them a lot of trust from me.
It means that, unlike basically every other VPN out there, they're willing to have literally 0 information about you, and even being surveilled from the VPN server itself wouldn't be enough to determine your identity.
