Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

Let's fucking GOOOOO! Unlimited findings of Genocide against WeSSt Germany.

The global south has listened and doubted for decades to the West claiming that international institutions served all equally. Now even they are forcing these institutions to back their empty words with action or be revealed as hypocrites.

It's never going to stick but I unconditionally salute this action because:

  1. It's going on permanent record forever and it will be entered into the history books

  2. It will reveal the political undercurrents that exist to protect countries like the USA, Germany, and Australia in their unwavering support for and complicity in the genocide committed by Israel

Mao was right about where political power comes from. We will not see justice from the ICJ today but we might just see the delegitimisation of these political institutions that are captive to the west, and maybe that's the most realistic thing that we can hope for.

I didn't think the South Africa - Israel case would have succeeded either but it did so I'm very cautiously optimistic something will stick.

So much of Germany's post war image is built on being rependtent for genocide that even a small victory for Nicaragua would absolutely fuck up Germany's image.

South Africa's case hasn't succeeded yet, they got a preliminary finding that Israel is plausibly committing genocide. It'll probably be a year before a final verdict is reached, by which time the evidence against Israel will only be stronger. I'm optimistic, but it's not certain.

Also isn't that Ugandan judge the voted in favor of Israel now the ICJ's vice-president. How hard will that make things for South Africa and Nicaragua?

ICJ has been ignoring South Africa's demands and "ghosting" them for over two weeks now because us-foreign-policy, which South Africa and several other nations have taken direct note of, or even highlighted this disparity verbatim.

However, the deliberate floundering of the ICJ suit has given enough validation that any Western talking point should be at bare minimum, dismissed entirely.
